You’ll take ownership of a core content segment and play an important role in shaping daily coverage, editorial standards, and workflow.\nResponsibilities\nEditorial Ownership & Execution\nHelp guide coverage strategy across core computing verticals, including operating systems (Windows, Linux, Android), consumer hardware/devices, and enthusiast DIY tech (single-board computers, microcontrollers, 3D printing).\nMaintain high standards for accuracy, authority, and clarity across published content.\nManage the editorial pipeline from pitch review and topic prioritization through assignment and publication.\nWriter Leadership\nLead and support a team of freelance writers, providing consistent editorial feedback and guidance.\nReview writer performance and output to ensure alignment with brand voice and best practices.\nIdentify strong contributors, development opportunities, and writers ready for additional responsibility.\nAssist with onboarding and training new contributors as needed.\nHands-On Editing & Writing\nReview and approve pitches, assign topics, manage deadlines, and perform copy edits to keep production on track.\nContribute original written content within your core coverage areas when needed.\nPlanning & Strategy\nWork with editorial leadership to maintain a balanced editorial calendar aligned with audience interests and business goals.\nStay current with technology and digital lifestyle trends to inform coverage and ideation.\nMonitor content performance and apply insights to improve editorial strategy.\nCollaboration & Communication\nProvide clear guidance and feedback through regular check-ins and async communication.\nPartner with editorial leadership to support broader initiatives and growth objectives.\nRequirements\nExperience editing and writing consumer technology content.\nExtensive hands-on knowledge of desktop builds, mobile/handheld devices, operating systems, and enthusiast maker hardware.\nPrior experience leading or mentoring writers in a freelance environment.\nComfortable owning editorial decisions and managing multiple priorities.\nStrong editorial judgment, organization, and attention to detail.\nApplication Requirements\nCV\nCover LetterPlease address the following question:What makes you the right fit for this role?
