You will work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, and Architecture teams to ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant within a highly regulated financial services environment.\nYou will lead a multidisciplinary team comprising software engineers and subject matter experts. Many team members possess significant domain expertise in structured products, derivatives, equities, regulatory reporting, and PRIIPs regulation, requiring close collaboration between technical and business specialists to deliver successful outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership\nOwn the technical architecture and end-to-end delivery of the PRIIP Cloud platform.\nDefine and maintain architectural standards, design patterns, engineering principles, and platform roadmaps.\nLead technical decision-making across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, data models, and cloud infrastructure.\nEnsure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, observable, and maintainable.\nDrive continuous improvement of engineering practices, software quality, and developer productivity.\nFull Stack Engineering\nContribute hands-on across all layers of the platform including frontend, backend services, APIs, integrations, databases, and cloud-native infrastructure.\nDesign and build user-facing capabilities, platform services, and operational tooling.\nLead development of reusable components, shared services, and common platform capabilities.\nDrive automated testing, CI/CD adoption, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering automation.\nEnsure solutions meet performance, availability, reliability, and security expectations.\nOperational Ownership\nOwn the operation and reliability of the PRIIP Cloud platform in production.\nSupport the team's responsibility for production incidents, customer issues, operational troubleshooting, and service restoration activities.\nDrive monitoring, observability, alerting, incident management, capacity planning, and service improvement initiatives.\nEnsure operational processes, runbooks, support procedures, and resilience capabilities are maintained and continuously improved.\nWork closely with Operations and Customer Support teams to ensure high service availability and customer satisfaction.\nProduct & Domain Collaboration\nPartner with Product Owners, Compliance SMEs, Quantitative Analysts, and regulatory specialists to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.\nWork alongside team members with deep expertise in structured products, derivatives, equities, and PRIIPs regulations.\nEnsure technical solutions accurately reflect financial product behaviour, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.\nProvide technical leadership whilst leveraging specialist business knowledge from subject matter experts across the team.\nTeam Leadership\nMentor and coach engineers across the team.\nFoster a culture of accountability, ownership, engineering excellence, and continuous learning.\nSupport recruitment, onboarding, and career development.\nEncourage adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development and engineering automation.\nRequired Experience\n8+ years of software engineering experience with significant full-stack development experience.\nPrevious experience operating as a Lead Developer, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, or similar role.\nProven experience owning production systems and supporting live business-critical platforms.\nStrong experience designing and building cloud-native distributed systems.\nHands-on experience across frontend and backend technologies.\nStrong expertise in technologies such as:TypeScript / Node.js\nReact or modern web frameworks\nJava / Kotlin (desirable)\nREST APIs and event-driven architectures\n\nExperience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.\nExperience working in financial services or other highly regulated environments.\nStrong stakeholder management, mentoring, and leadership capabilities.\nDesirable Experience\nExperience working with structured products, equity-linked products, OTC derivatives, regulatory documentation, PRIIPs, or financial reporting platforms.\nExperience working alongside quantitative analysts, product specialists, and regulatory subject matter experts.\nExperience supporting SaaS platforms with demanding operational and customer support requirements.\nExperience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.\nExperience with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, and Keycloak.\nExperience with Datadog, Grafana, Elastic, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability tooling.\nExperience implementing AI-assisted software development practices.\nIf you have the skills, experience and drive to excel in this challenging and rewarding role, we would love to hear from you.
