Under the guidance of experienced Holroyd Howe chefs, you will learn essential skills, including:\nFood preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation skills\nWorking efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment\nUnderstanding and maintaining food hygiene, safety, and allergen regulations\nAssisting in the production of high-quality meals for students, staff, and special events\nLearning how to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create healthy and delicious dishes\nSupporting stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation\n A keen interest in cooking and professional catering\nGCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred) - if not already achieved, support will be provided to complete these as part of the apprenticeship\nA willingness to learn and work towards a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship\nA strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and commitment to training\nDesirable:\n\nPrevious kitchen experience (not essential, but beneficial)\nA Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (if not held, training will be provided)\nKnowledge of food safety, allergens, and hygiene standards\n Holroyd Howe is one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges.
