This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced geologist with a strong background in engineering geology, geotechnical investigations, earthwork observation, geologic hazard assessment, and infrastructure development, along with a proven ability to lead teams, manage clients, and drive business growth.\nAs a senior leader, you will play a key role in expanding WSP's engineering geology practice throughout California and the Western U.S., supporting major transportation, land development, energy, water, and public infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, technically sound solutions while mentoring the next generation of geologists and geotechnical professionals.\nYour Impact\nLead and manage engineering geology projects from planning and investigation through construction support.\n\nDirect geologic and geotechnical field investigations, subsurface explorations, fault studies, and geologic hazard evaluations.\n\nProvide technical oversight for slope stability analyses, landslide investigations, seismic hazard assessments, grading projects, and foundation recommendations.\n\nServe as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering strategic guidance on complex geologic and geotechnical challenges.\n\nDevelop and maintain client relationships while supporting business development and proposal pursuits.\n\nMentor and lead engineering geologists, geologists, and technical staff.\n\nManage project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.\n\nCollaborate with geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, environmental professionals, and construction teams to deliver successful project outcomes.\n\nSupport revenue growth and help expand WSP's engineering geology practice across multiple market sectors.\n\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.\n\n10+ years of consulting experience in engineering geology, geotechnical investigations, or related disciplines.\n\nCalifornia Professional Geologist (PG) license.\n\nExtensive experience performing and overseeing geologic hazard evaluations, fault investigations, slope stability assessments, and construction-phase geologic services.\n\nStrong understanding of California geology, seismic hazards, grading regulations, and infrastructure development practices.\n\nProven project management and client relationship experience.\n\nDemonstrated success leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring technical staff.\n\nExcellent communication, leadership, and business development skills.\n\nCommitment to technical excellence, quality, and workplace safety.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.\n\nCalifornia Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) license.\n\nPMP certification.\n\nOSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.\n\nExperience supporting major transportation, water, energy, or land development projects.\nWSP Benefits: \nWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
