Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical leadership and project direction across a broad range of sectors including power generation, transmission and distribution, substations, gas infrastructure, carbon capture, hydrogen, industrial decarbonisation and other critical energy assets.\nYou will lead the delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design, ensuring technical excellence, safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with clients, project managers and discipline leads to develop trusted relationships and deliver successful outcomes.\nIn addition to project delivery responsibilities, you will support the growth of the Civil & Structural team through mentoring, capability development, recruitment and business development activities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and deliver civil and structural engineering services on complex Energy Transition and industrial infrastructure projects.\nAct as Lead Engineer, Discipline Lead or Project Manager as appropriate, ensuring successful delivery to programme, budget and quality requirements.\nProvide technical leadership across structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, foundations, site infrastructure and associated civil engineering works.\nDevelop innovative, sustainable and practical engineering solutions that meet client and project requirements.\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor and identifying opportunities for future work.\nCollaborate effectively with mechanical, electrical, process and project management teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.\nSupport project planning, resource forecasting and risk management activities.\nMentor and develop engineers and technicians, supporting professional development and chartership progression.\nContribute to recruitment, capability development and succession planning within the team.\nSupport the preparation of bids, proposals, presentations and technical submissions.\nPromote engineering excellence, safety in design and continuous improvement across all activities.\nContribute to the development of best practice, digital engineering approaches and innovative delivery methods.\nWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate...\nWe are seeking an experienced civil or structural engineering professional with strong technical capability, leadership skills and a passion for delivering infrastructure that supports the energy transition.\nEssential Qualifications & Experience\nDegree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.\nChartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or equivalent professional body.\nSignificant experience delivering civil and/or structural engineering projects within energy, industrial or infrastructure sectors.\nDemonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating complex design activities.\nStrong understanding of engineering governance, quality management and Safety in Design principles.\nProven ability to manage client relationships and develop business opportunities.\nExcellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.\nCommercial awareness with experience managing budgets, programmes and project delivery performance.\nIdeally, Experience In One Or More Of The Following Areas\nTransmission and Distribution infrastructure.\nElectrical substations.\nOverhead Line (OHL) infrastructure.\nPower generation facilities.\nGas transmission and distribution infrastructure.\nHydrogen and carbon capture projects.\nIndustrial and process plants.\nHeavy rotating equipment foundations.\nModular plant design and off-site construction.\nPetrochemical or chemical processing facilities.\nDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
