Opportunity\nWSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Manager, Federal Programs with the potential to work out of either Richmond, VA or Virginia Beach, VA.\nEmployee should expect to be full time on the project site in James City, VA and does not need to check in or out of the assigned office daily\nYour Impact\nPre-construction phase:\nAssist in site selection and feasibility analysis\nConduct constructability reviews of design documents \nCoordinate cost estimating and budget development efforts by our Estimating Team\nLead project planning and schedule preparation effort and coordinate with project controls team \nSupport client during project procurement phase and contractor selection \nCoordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants, in-house and outside consultants \nConstruction phase:\nIdentify and manage potential risks, mitigate or minimize \nMonitor project progress against schedule and budget \nManage project change and recommend actions\nOversee quality control and safety compliance \nReview project activities with client, designer, and contractor’s field supervision resolving any issues\nOversee materials testing activities\nReview daily inspection reports and other project documentation\nFacilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors \nConduct daily site visits and progress meetings \nAnalyze project data to identify cost-savings opportunities \nProvide recommendations for project scope adjustments as needed \nExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures\nPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent\n7+ years of relevant construction experience\nA demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents \nDeep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods\nSuccessful relationship with clients and team members in the field \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders\nProven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation\nProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.\nAbility to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle driving record check.\nEIT registration.\n10+ years of relevant construction experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nEIT
