environmental sectors.\nWe are seeking a Data Science GCC Lead to support the continued growth of our data science and analytics team.\nAs the team has expanded, this role introduces an additional layer of leadership to strengthen delivery coordination, mentoring and performance across a diverse group of data scientists, engineers and analysts.\nThe Data Science GCC Team Lead is responsible for the leadership, development, utilisation and delivery performance of GCC Data Science staff supporting Australian and New Zealand projects.\nThe role acts as the primary interface between GCC resources and Australian delivery teams, ensuring work is effectively planned, communicated, delivered and continuously improved.\n The Data Science Capability Lead will:\nProvide day-to-day leadership and oversight for a defined group of staff based in GCC\n\nAssist in coordinating work allocation, priorities and utilisation across their team in collaboration with the data science operations lead.\n\nLead and coordinate scope and delivery of GCC weork with Project Managers\n\nSupport mentoring, development and performance management\n\nEnsure consistent delivery standards, QA and ways of working\n\nAct as a key escalation point for delivery risks and issues\n\nSupport work winning and client engagement where required\n\nEnsure all staff within GCC team meet delivery, standards and quality expectations\n\nProvide guidance to all staff and be across scope and expectations of all work packages.\n\nResponsible for hiring and growth in GCC team\n\nKey responsibilities\nTeam leadership\nLine management, including:\nmentoring and coaching\n\nperformance and development conversations\n\nMaintain visibility of team workload, availability and delivery risks\n\nSupport onboarding and capability uplift across different experience levels\n\nCoordination and operations\nCoordinate tasks, priorities and workflow across projects\n\nEnsure consistency in:\nQA and review processes\n\ndelivery practices\n\nteam standards and tools\n\nProactively identify and escalate delivery or resourcing constraints\n\nClient and business development\nEngage with project teams to shape solutions and delivery approaches\n\nSupport proposals and technical inputs where required\n\nContribute to building strong client relationships and repeat work\n\nEngagement with leadership\nThe Data Science Capability Lead will actively support and engage with Data Science leadership by:\nProviding regular visibility of team performance, including:\nutilisation\n\ndelivery progress\n\nemerging risks and issues\n\nEscalating delivery, resourcing or performance risks early, with clear context and recommended actions\n\nContributing to resource planning and workforce decisions, including:\nidentifying gaps in capability\n\nsupporting hiring priorities\n\nproviding input into team structure\n\nallocating staff to bids and projects.\n\nstaying across upcoming pipeline of work.\n\nSupporting performance management discussions, including:\nidentifying high performers and development opportunities\n\nflagging underperformance early\n\nContributing to ways of working and standards development, ensuring:\nconsistency across teams\n\nfeedback loops from delivery into process improvement\n\nProviding input into pipeline and work winning activities, including:\nidentifying opportunities within current delivery\n\nsupporting solution shaping and resourcing assumptions\n\nParticipating in regular leadership forums and cadence activities, contributing to:\nalignment across Capability Leads\n\nconsistent decision-making and communication\n\nFoster strong collaboration between Australian and GCC teams, ensuring knowledge sharing, consistency of delivery and integration into project teams.\n\nAct as the primary interface between Australian project teams and GCC Data Science staff, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations and effective integration into delivery teams.\n\nEnsure all work allocated to GCC staff is appropriately scoped, documented and understood, with clear acceptance criteria and delivery expectations.\n\nDrive the growth and maturity of the Data Science capability.\n\nDevelop technical standards, methodologies and reusable assets.\n\nIdentify emerging technologies and opportunities for innovation.\n\nSupport workforce planning, recruitment and succession planning.\n\nBuild capability through training, mentoring and communities of practice.\n\nRepresent Data Science in cross-business initiatives and strategic pursuits.\n\nSupport achievement of capability utilisation, revenue and growth targets.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nStrong understanding in data science, analytics or related field\n\nExperience leading end-to-end delivery of projects\n\nAbility to define approach, scope and delivery strategy\n\nA collaborative and supportive leadership approach\n\nAbility to manage competing priorities and delivery pressures\n\nConfidence working with stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains\n\nSound judgement in escalation versus resolution of issues\n\n Experience and capability\nTypically 6+ years experience in data science, analytics or engineering\n\nUnderstanding of:\nstatistical modelling\n\nmachine learning\n\ndata analysis and processing\n\nPractical experience delivering projects\n\nKnowledge of modern data platforms and environments\n\nExperience in management and leadership\n\nInfrastructure and engineering background preferred but not required.\n\nSuccess in role (first 6-12 months)\nEffective leadership of a defined team group\n\nImproved delivery coordination and workload visibility\n\nUplift in quality, consistency and mentoring across the team\n\nPositive feedback from staff and project stakeholders\n\nContribution to pipeline and
