As part of the Power Delivery subsector, our Distribution group leads the design of low to medium voltage overhead and underground lines and the facilities that support them. This role gives you hands-on exposure to real power delivery challenges and the chance to contribute to projects that keep communities connected and energized.\nYou’ll take on meaningful work across the province, applying your technical skills to power distribution projects that directly influence how energy is delivered and maintained. You’ll collaborate with a supportive team of engineers, designers, and stakeholders, gaining the coaching, mentorship, and training needed to grow your expertise and advance your career.\nYour Impact\nSupport a wide range of customer requests for new power services, including upgrades to existing services and new service installations.\n\nCoordinate closely with customers and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.\n\nApply engineering calculations to prepare design packages for overhead and underground power distribution systems.\n\nPerform quality reviews of design deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.\n\nSupport tasks such as equipment sizing, material specification, and preparation of construction documentation.\n\nDesign and analyze overhead and underground distribution systems using distribution design software.\n\nApply relevant codes and standards, including CSA, to overhead and underground distribution designs.\n\nConduct site visits as required and provide support during the construction phase of projects.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve design efficiency, quality, and consistency across projects.\n\nContribute to internal knowledge-sharing activities and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nDeliver high-quality work on time and within budget under the guidance of senior engineers.\n\nPerform additional responsibilities as required to support business needs\n\nWhat You’ll Bring to WSP\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.\n\nEligibility for registration, or current registration, with APEGA.\n\nValid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.\n\nDemonstrated interest in power distribution design, consulting engineering, the electric utility industry, or related fields.\n\nStrong command of the English language, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.\n\nProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.\n\nLegal authorization to work permanently in Canada without the need for sponsorship.\n\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nPrevious engineering design or drafting experience, particularly in civil or electrical engineering.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.\n\nStrong ability to manage multiple tasks while working with a variety of personalities and stakeholders.\n\nExposure to utility standards, CSA requirements, and an understanding of powerline construction techniques.\n\nAbility to contribute within design teams, stay self-motivated, and take initiative in learning new responsibilities.\n\nStrong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.\n\nCapability to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute project tasks effectively.\n\nAbility to build trust and strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.\n\nExperience collaborating on interdisciplinary project teams and managing project deliverables.\n\nWhy Choose WSP?\nWe exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
