As an Early Career Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Civil Engineer-in-Training, you will work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams to design hydraulic structures that support communities, industry, and environmental stewardship. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your technical expertise while contributing to meaningful water infrastructure projects.\nYour Impact\nCollaborate with senior engineers, CAD designers, and project managers as part of multidisciplinary project teams.\nConduct structural stability analyses and support the design of hydraulic structures, including spillways, water control structures, pump stations, water intakes, river outlets, pipelines, and mining infrastructure.\nSupport the preparation and review of engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.\nProvide engineering support during construction phases, including site visits and inspections.\nAssist with condition assessments of existing structures and contribute to technical reporting and recommendations.\nContribute to hydrotechnical assessments and water resources engineering projects.\nDevelop structural models and calculation packages to solve engineering challenges using sound engineering principles.\nPromote a strong health and safety culture while supporting sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions.\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nA Bachelors or Masters Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related discipline.\nEligibility for immediate registration with APEGA as an Engineer in Training is required.\n0-4 years experience in engineering including construction administration and site inspections.\nExperience analysing reinforced concrete and related structural systems is preferred.\nBasic understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design and geotechnical concepts and their application in the Prairies is required.\nExperience with AutoCAD and structural analysis or design software would be an asset.\nExperience with water management infrastructure design and construction including tender preparation and construction administration and construction inspection would be an asset.\nBasic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, technical writing, office automation, technology, and tools.\nFamiliarity with Canadian building codes, CSA standards, and/or ASTM standards.\nAbility to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet project needs.\nA willingness to learn and independently research technical solutions is encouraged.\nA valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites is required.\nWhy Choose WSP?\nWhy Choose WSP?
