Our ecology team includes ornithology, terrestrial, Biodiversity Net Gain and aquatic (inc. marine) specialists. We are a dynamic and friendly team, with other offices in Ireland and UK, working closely with a range of interrelated disciplines including Natural Capital specialists, arboriculturists, landscape architects, hydrologists, our historic environment experts and geotechnical specialists.\nWe are passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive team, so even if you’re not sure you match everything in our job description, we are still keen for you to make an application\nYour New Role What’s Involved?\nAs a people-focussed Team Leader you will be involved in the following activities:\nWorking closely with your local team and the Regional Director to plan workload, career and personal development of the team, wellbeing and oversee technical quality.\nProducing and inputting into tenders (commercial and technical) in support of our clients’ projects.\nProvide leadership and guidance that creates a positive and professional, supportive working environment, to develop and mentor junior team members. \nLiaising with other disciplines within WSP to expand the awareness of, and engagement with the South East ecology teams.\nHelping to nurture an enthusiastic, supportive, productive and fun working environment.\nAvailing of a generous training and career development budget to complete training (in-house and external) to help with own personal development and career progression.\nWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate…\nAn appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (mentoring and support is available to progress along all stages of membership).\nExperience of staff management and a passion for developing and mentoring individuals as they progress their careers at WSP.\nA proven record of supporting clients through devising and delivering survey programmes, developing pragmatic, cost-effective mitigation, gaining the agreement of regulators and supervising implementation on-site.\nExperience of Ecological Impact Assessment and writing EIA Reports.\nProject management experience and skill with medium to large scale projects. \nExperience of winning work from commercial clients, across a range of sectors. \nDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
