The role involves delivering integrated substation automation solutions, ensuring seamless interfacing between control systems, protection systems, communication networks, and primary equipment within a unified SCMS platform.\n Develop and design SCMS / Substation Automation System (SAS) / EMS architecture\n(station, bay, and process levels).\n Prepare/Review engineering deliverables including:\no System architecture diagrams\no I/O lists and signal interfacing\no Network and communication layouts\no HMI and database configurations\n Interface SCMS with substation equipment such as:\no Protection relays and tele-protection systems\no GIS/AIS switchgear, transformers, feeders\no LCC panels and auxiliary systems\n Design and review control logic, interlocking schemes, and automation sequences.\n Ensure SCMS integration with control centers using protocols like:\no IEC 61850\no IEC 60870-5-101/104\n Lead integration of telecommunication systems (MPLS, SDH, OFC/OPGW networks,\n4G/5G, Wireless) for reliable data exchange.\n Implement cybersecurity solutions aligned with IEC 62443 and utility-specific\nstandards.\n Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system validation activities.\n Review vendor submissions and ensure compliance with project specifications and\nclient standards.\n Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, protection, civil, planning\nand MEP teams.\n\nAct as Owner’s Engineer / Technical Advisor for SCMS and Telecommunication scope.o Review EPC contractor and vendor submissions for technical compliance.\no Prepare formal review comments, compliance matrices, and technical reports.\no Ensure alignment with client standards.\no Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and vendor discussions.\no Support tender package preparation including scope of work preparation,\ntechnical bid evaluations (TBE) and vendor selection.\no Review FAT/SAT procedures and oversee system compliance during execution\no Identify design risks and recommend mitigation measures\n\n Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Instrumentation / Control Engineering.\n 08-15+ years of experience in:\no SCMS / SCADA / Substation Automation Systems\no Power transmission substations (EHV / HV / MV)\n Strong understanding of:\no Substation primary and secondary equipment\no Protection systems and tele-protection schemes\no Transmission network operations\n Hands-on experience with:\no IEC 61850 and IEC 60870 protocols\no RTUs, BCUs, and IEDs integration\n Knowledge of telecommunication systems:\no MPLS, SDH, FOC/OPGW, Microwave, 4G/5G\n Strong understanding of cybersecurity in substations and OT systems (IEC 62443 or\nequivalent).\n Experience on 110 KV / 220 KV / 415 KV substation system.\n\nPreferred Qualifications Experience in Middle East utility projects.\n Experience in multi-vendor integration and large-scale transmission projects\n Exposure to brownfield and greenfield substations\n Experience in design, testing, and commissioning phases.\n\nSkills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills\n Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination\n Ability to lead design reviews and technical discussions\n Detail-oriented with focus on compliance and quality\n\nBGV:\n Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.\n Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process -
