The primary function of this role will be to support the Airfield Principal Engineer, however there will be potential to become a Senior Airfield Civil Engineer as the GCC Airfield Engineering team grows and develops. The successful candidate will be among one of the first members of this team and will form a crucial role in its growth and development. The Airfield Civil Engineer will be responsible in supporting delivering airfield civil engineering design and maintenance projects through various stages of design from feasibility/ option studies to detailed design and onto construction for various clients both in the UK and overseas.\n The candidate will be required to:\nAct as a Civil Airfield Engineer for airfield civil engineering projects. \nTake ownership in the production of technical designs whilst giving technical leadership and mentorship to more junior engineers in the team.\nUndertake the preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications related to the delivery of airfield engineering projects in both the UK and overseas.\nContribute towards technical design reviews as required to meet the WSP quality management requirements.\nRead and accurately interpret, review, amend and reproduce engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.\nAbility to manage drawing registers and revision control processes.\nRespond to client directions in a professional and customer focused manner and to develop and maintain relationships with clients, peers and others who are influential in providing future business. \nActively participate in the design and take ownership in providing technical input to the design team throughout the full design process.\nEffectively and confidently communicate and coordinate designs with team members, industry associates and Clients as required. \nIdentify and support in the management of design risks, issues and Request for Information (RFIs).\nSupport the Principal Airfield Civil Engineer as directed by monitoring and contributing to the development of appropriate project controls, including change management, information management and document control. \nFollow the technical quality requirements, address the project brief and meet client deadlines.\nChampion excellent health and safety in design.\n The current team is diverse and well respected across the industry therefore the candidate is required to have sound technical abilities.\nThe successful candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in Civil Engineering projects at airports and preferably have a degree in Civil Engineering.\nMinimum Requirements\nCivil engineering experience of working on large, technically complex airport projects from the detailed design and construction support stages.\nExperience working within an engineering team in the delivery of technical aviation projects, sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues and be able to demonstrate a time when you’ve managed to do this successfully to solve complex problems. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills when providing design information or interacting with team members, industry associates and Clients, regardless of their technical abilities. \nCompetent self-discipline with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritisation of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment to meet the needs of multiple projects and managers.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet the technical and design objectives as directed by the Airfield Principal Engineer.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.\nExperience of international airfield design standards such as ICAO and FAA.\nKnowledge and experience of using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and relevant other airfield engineering design software packages such as AviPlan, SkySafe and FAARFIELD is preferable but not essential.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).\nPreferred Qualifications\nCivil Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant qualification\nChartered or Incorporated Status (MICE, MCIHT or equivalent) or equivalent demonstrable experience is preferable but not essential.\nKnowledge and experience of using Civil 3D and relevant other airfield engineering design software packages such as AviPlan, SkySafe and FAARFIELD is preferable but not essential. \nBGV:\nEmployment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.\nCandidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process -
