The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.\nWSP has a new opportunity for an Environmental Assessment and Remediation Project Manager to join our Remediation Program Management (RPM) team based in Calgary or Edmonton. This new opportunity will require you to manage risk and closure of contaminated sites in the downstream oil and gas industry. You will design and oversee field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline crude oil etc.) fertilizers and metals, as well as prepare technical reports. It is expected that you are self-motivated and will demonstrate strong time management and communication skills.\nYour Impact\nCreate a safe and positive environment for colleagues.\nLead a project team and take on responsibilities including: Reviewing health and safety plans and emergency response plans.\nPreparation of proposals and cost estimates.\nReport writing and reviewing, including preparing conclusions and recommendations.\nProject accounting, tracking and reporting requirements to the terms of reference under WSP’s Master Services Agreements.\nTraining junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc.\nTraining staff on site specific health and safety.\n\nManage client relationships.\nCollaborate across the national RPM team and WSP.\nDevelop a personal career development plan with specific goals to achieve your career aspirations.\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nBachelor’s degree in related field (sciences and/or Engineering).\nMinimum 8 years of experience in contaminated site assessments.\nSound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.\nAn analytical mind; someone who is able to make recommendations on the next steps for client sites.\nStrong business acumen and financial management experience, developing, tracking and forecasting on annual budgets.\nPrevious experience with soil and ground water sampling and remediation.\nUnderstanding of the Alberta and Saskatchewan Environmental regulations.\nProfessional designation is preferred.\nExperience in the oil and gas sector will be an asset.\nWhy choose WSP?\nWe exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
