WSP

WSP is a Canadian engineering and professional services consulting firm headquartered in Montreal that provides technical and advisory services across the full lifecycle of built and natural environment projects. Listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange with annual revenues above C$16 billion, it operates in North America, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and India, and its US arm is the former Parsons Brinckerhoff. It hires bridge, structural, geotechnical, electrical and substation engineers, transport planners, acoustics specialists, environmental consultants, inspectors, BIM technicians and graduates.

Under the guidance of an experienced Field Services Engineer or Technician, the successful candidate will be involved in the inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of moderately complex electrical systems and associated apparatus. Work may be performed in low-, medium-, or high-voltage systems. The candidate will learn how to operate test instruments, support protection and controls testing, and gain experience in the fundamentals of electrical system components and overall structure.

The ideal candidate has solid planning, organizing, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills and completes work with a focus on safety, quality, and a sense of urgency.

This position is based in Florida or the Carolinas, and the fieldwork is located throughout the region.

This Opportunity

  • Supports a wide range of testing and commissioning activities through application of client testing standards, industry standards (IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NESC), and manufacturer recommendations
  • Works under limited supervision, independently executing moderately complex assignments, and contributing to regulatory compliance, safety adherence, and data integrity across active job sites
  • Provides day-to-day support to field teams, helps resolve challenges on-site, and mentors junior technicians to promote quality, efficiency, and safe work practices
  • As one of the world’s leading professional services firms, WSP now brings world-class expertise in power delivery, power generation, and project management with the recent acquisition of POWER Engineers, Inc. Our vision is to be the preeminent pure-play global consulting firm for the world’s energy transition-and we need your help.
