The selected candidate will support a variety of geotechnical and civil engineering projects while gaining experience in field investigations, engineering analyses, and technical documentation.\nOur Earth & Environment Team is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 to work out of our Atlanta, GA office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.\nThis 12-week internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program that is scheduled to start on May 17, 2027. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.\nYour Impact\nSupport a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.\nLearn basic principles of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering. \nAssist with project research, field work, subsurface investigations, and preliminary engineering calculations and analyses.\nSupport preparation of technical reports, design documents, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.\nAssist in collecting, organizing, and maintaining project documentation. \nComplete training on assigned tasks. \nExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. \nPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.\nPlease note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship. \nOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. \nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nActively enrolled in an accredited Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later. \nMust be 18 or older. \nDemonstrated interest in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects. \nCompetent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. \nCapable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects. \nBasic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and engineering tools. \nProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. \nAuthorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.\nPreferred Qualifications\nActively enrolled in an accredited Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related, Master's Degree or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later. \nPrior internship and leadership involvement on
