The role develops clear, accessible and customer-focused graphics that support community outreach, public information, construction updates, and project communications throughout all phases of project development.\nThe role supports the Customer Experience Division by producing materials that meet FDOT and Enterprise standards, follow established branding, and communicate complex information in a simplified and visually understandable way.\nYour Impact\nCreate graphics, illustrations, diagrams and visual materials for construction outreach and public information efforts.\n\nDevelop layouts for construction alerts, detour maps, public meeting boards, fact sheets, project newsletters, mailers and social media graphics.\n\nPrepare visuals that support project phasing, lane closures, staging, noise walls, bridge work, access changes and other construction activities.\n\nConvert engineering information, plan sheets and technical details into public-friendly visuals.\n\nSupport all phases of a project including PD&E, design, right of way and construction.\n\nProduce graphics for digital platforms, presentations, signage, brochures and internal communications.\n\nEnsure all materials follow agency branding, plain-language standards and communication requirements.\n\nRespond to graphic design requests from multiple corridors and project offices.\n\nManage concurrent tasks and deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.\n\nParticipate in project meetings as needed to understand design requirements.\n\nPrepare files for print, digital release or public distribution.\n\nMaintain organized project files and design assets for each corridor or project.\n\nEnsure all materials are ADA-friendly, properly formatted and ready for distribution.\n\nConduct quality reviews to confirm accuracy of project data, maps and construction information prior to release.\n\nStrong proficiency in visual communication, layout design and converting technical information into easy-to-understand public-facing graphics.\n\nAbility to adapt style and design approach to various project phases and communication needs.\n\nComfort working within government brand guidelines and approval processes.\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage short-turnaround requests.\n\nAbility to work independently while supporting multiple project managers and communication leads.\n\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nA bachelor’s degree in graphic design or an equivalent field\n\n5+ years of experience in visual design or a related field\n\nExperience working at a department of transportation or other government entity\n\nA portfolio demonstrating a range of design techniques and skills\n\nAbility to work independently and interdependently with teams and demonstrate initiative\n\nKnack for project management, demonstrated technical prowess, impressive design sensibilities, and a rigorous and proactive work ethic\n\nFluency in PC environments and proficient in Adobe Creative (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suites and other creative software and social media design needs\n\nProficiency with PowerPoint and presentation development\n\nExperience with web design, website layouts, wireframes, storyboards, integrating graphics, audio and video and creating elements such as icons and banners\n\nKnowledge of trends in creative design, processes, products, and digital media\n\nKnowledge of Section 508 standards, the Americans with Disabilities Act and other standards\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdherence to FTE and Florida Department of Transportation style
