Our teams deliver engineering and project execution excellence across the full project lifecycle-from conceptual studies and detailed design to commissioning, optimization, and beyond.\nTo meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Designer to join our teams located in any of our offices in Alberta, Ontario and Atlantic provinces.\nReporting to the Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering, you will join a dynamic and growing Resources team within the Mining and Metals Subsector where you will be responsible to plan, design, implement, and support Instrumentation and control designs used in the operation of heavy industrial mining and metals projects.\nYour Impact\nYou will be responsible for developing independently - Instrument index, I/O list, Instrument datasheets, Cable schedule, MTOs.\nYou will have solid experience developing control room layouts, Instrument location layouts, Remote I/O panels, Junction Box layouts, and PLC Panel sizing and layouts, standard installation details, loop drawings, and schematics and wiring\nAbility to work on control philosophy and control narratives with minimum supervision and guidance.\nKnowledge about ISA standards and applications in Instrumentation & Controls and strong understanding of industrial processes (mining, water treatment, Oil & gas, industrial or manufacturing)\nFlexibility and ability to travel to site for field inspection and as-needed work at Client facility.\nFamiliar with communication systems including CCTV, Security Access card readers, and fiber optic network.\nAbility and flexibility to work on electrical design and drafting tasks in parallel to Instrumentation & Controls.\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nMinimum Technical diploma from a reputable post-secondary institution in industrial instrumentation technology or engineering technology \nAt least 10+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a consulting environment with a focus on electrical instrumentation and controls\nSolid understanding and experience with E&I C installation requirements along with understanding of impact on construction\nExperience in heavy industrial projects desired - mining and metals projects experience a definite asset\nStrong command of AutoCAD and MicroStation\nExperience with 3D CADD a benefit\nWhy Choose WSP?\nWe exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
