As an Intermediate Transmission Line Design Engineer, you'll contribute to the design and delivery of transmission projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.\nThis opportunity can be based in any of our Ontario or Quebec offices.\nYour Impact\nDesign overhead transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV, supporting safe and reliable power infrastructure.\nPrepare and review engineering deliverables, including plan and profile drawings, material selections, and construction specifications.\nSupport route selection, line and structure spotting, structural analysis, foundation design, and development of construction bid packages.\nCoordinate with engineers, drafters, designers, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams to keep deliverables moving efficiently.\nManage assigned project schedules, budgets, status reporting, and technical deliverables.\nFacilitate QA/QC reviews to support consistent, high-quality engineering work.\nBuild productive client relationships while participating in project meetings and communicating technical requirements.\nContribute to resource planning, business improvement initiatives, and the continued growth of the Power Delivery team.\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nBachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.\nAt least three years of transmission design experience, including overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines.\nP.Eng. licence or near completion.\nHands-on experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, and FAD Tools software packages.\nExperience within the electric utility industry, including transmission line routing and design.\nExperience with transmission structure foundation, loading, and structural design.\nTransmission design experience up to 230kV, with distribution design experience considered valuable.\nExperience supporting cost estimating, scheduling, technical coordination, and multidisciplinary project delivery.\nWhy Choose WSP?\nWe exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
