The following locations will also be considered: Durham, NC and Charlotte, NC. This person will plan, direct, and oversee environmental consulting services in support of public and private clientele. This position requires an individual with effective program-level management and communication skills as significant client, agency, public, and team interactions are expected. Our ideal candidate will be a significant contributor both with strategy and delivery on a team providing project and client management services for hydrogeological characterization, environmental assessments, and environmental compliance.\nYour Impact\nPlan, oversee, and mentor environmental scientists and engineers performing technical assignments (both field and office) on environmental projects/programs. \nProvide technical review/oversight/mentoring of teams to assure compliance with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications.\nManage projects technically and administratively. \nOversee development and execution of cross-functional teams performing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.\nPrepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations to explain research, findings, recommendations to prevent, control, remedy, or clean-up chemical and environmental concerns related to State and Federal regulations. \nPlan and direct business development and marketing strategies/activities to capture new clients for WSP USA.\nRepresent WSP USA and interact in a professional manner with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.\nMay travel to project sites primarily in the Southeast.\nUnderstand and assure compliance with company, client, and site Health and Safety standards.\nPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. \nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geosciences or closely related discipline.\n7-10+ years of related experience. \nAbility to pursue and develop clients in the public or private sectors.\nProficient in project management and/or business development experience.\nKnowledge and experience with Federal and State (NC, SC, VA) environmental regulatory programs.\nHighly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.\nMust pass physical, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy.\nDemonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.\nWorks independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.\nHighly proficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.\nWell-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.\nProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.\nAbility and willingness to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.\nAbility and willingness to travel to project sites primarily in North Carolina and surrounding area. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in Geology, or closely related discipline.\nLocal contacts within the industry.\nPG or applicable professional certification.\n40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120).\nBasic First Aid and Adult
