This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program through Drexel University.\nThis co-op is anticipated to take place during the Spring and Summer 2027 semesters. The anticipated dates of this co-op are March 29th - August 20th as part of the Drexel Co-op Program. Start dates may be flexible.\nYour Impact\nStudents will have the opportunity to gain experience in projects within the infrastructure, commercial, higher education, science & technology and healthcare sectors. WSP’s projects include both renovation and new construction, both locally and nationally. Successful candidates will participate in all aspects of mechanical engineering and design as it relates to the building and construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of engineering. Throughout the cycle, the Co-op should expect to:\nSupport a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.\nLearn basic principles of Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering.\nBecome familiar with reading and interpreting building plans and mechanical diagrams.\nAssist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.\nLearn Autodesk Revit to model mechanical airside and hydronic components and systems.\nCollaborate with senior engineers to develop engineering drawings and specifications.\nTravel to job sites to survey and review existing buildings and construction progress through various stages of a project.\nBecome familiar with various engineering standards and codes.\nAssist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.\nComplete training on assigned tasks.\nExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.\nPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.\nOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.\nPlease note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this co-op.\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nActively enrolled in an accredited Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related Undergraduate program through Drexel University with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later. \nMust be 18 or older.\nDemonstrated interest in Mechanical Engineering, or related, field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.\nCompetent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.\nCapable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.\nBasic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.\nProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.\nAuthorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship\nPreferred Qualifications\nActively enrolled in an accredited Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related Masters or PhD program through Drexel University with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later. \nExperience using Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit.\nPrior internship and leadership involvement on campus.\nCompensation:\nExpected Pay: $23.90 - $31.11 per hour\nWSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
