Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and chances to work with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.\nThe Stations team within WSP’s Rail business are actively seeking Mechanical Project Engineer to provide site-based support to our teams delivering mechanical and public health building services designs for major Railway Stations and other Railway Buildings.\nThe role will principally involve liaison between the WSP design team and the main contractor and their sub-contractors.\nThe role will principally involve liaison between the WSP design team and the main contractor and their sub-contractors.\nA little more about your role…\nKnowledge of the Mechanical site installation work; preferably on Rail projects.\nUnderstanding the design and specification produced by WSP and our sub-consultants.\nProviding advice to the design team on buildability of designs.\nProviding advice to the design team on commissioning and testing provision within designs.\nUndertaking non-intrusive site surveys to gather information for the design team.\nFacilitating site visits by design team (completion of risk assessment, attendance at main contractor safety briefings etc.)\nAttendance at internal and external design, interface and progress meetings.\nAttendance at factory and site acceptance tests.\nMonitoring progress of the installation works and reporting emerging technical risks to the design team.\nProducing responses to technical queries.\nSupporting the review of technical submittals and contractor’s proposals.\nProviding support to the production of design development notes (DDN) particularly for field changes.\nProviding support to the main contractor in inspecting the ongoing installation for compliance with the design intent.\nProviding support to the main contractor in the resolution of site non-conformances and defects.\nProviding support to development of BWIC and associated site changes and remedial work.\nProviding support to the main contractor during commissioning and entry into service.\nReviewing red-line mark-ups for as-built documentation.\nReviewing operating and maintenance documentation.\nA little more about your team...\nYou will work closely with like-minded individuals on exciting and challenging projects.\nRail Station MEP team consist of more than 70 mechanical, electrical and Public Health Engineers.\nYou will join a team of professionally qualified, diverse, talented individuals who collaborate to:Undertake project work from across the design lifecycle, including early concept stage to detail design\nDeliver projects for Network Rail, HS2, TfL, Transport for The North, TfGM, Nexus, Local Authorities, Principal Contractors and Private Developers.\n\nReporting to a senior member of our stations team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting a challenging multi-disciplinary Rail stations projects around.\nWhat we are looking for you to demonstrate…\nExperience of mechanical building services design and Site design representative in the Rail environment, including heating, cooling, hot and cold water, above ground drainage and ventilation systems.\nRegistration with a UK Engineering Institution\nUnderstanding of:the requirements of Network Rail and/or Crossrail and/or HS2 standards (knowledge of LUL/TfL standards would also be useful).\nthe Building Regulations and British standards and industry guidance associated with mechanical building services.\nhealth and safety regulations (e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations), Common Safety Method and HSE guidance. \ntypical project administration processes (technical queries, non-conformance notices, technical submittals etc.).\ntypical testing and commissioning and entry into service processes.\nproject technical lifecycle (RIBA work stages and BSRIA BG6)\n\nImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.\nWork on landmark projects around the world and embrace opportunities to make an even bigger impact in the communities you care about.
