Our devotion to teamwork allows us to build communities and improve the healthcare environments people rely on every day.\nYour Impact\nAs a Plumbing Engineer, you will contribute to the successful delivery of healthcare projects by supporting technical design tasks and collaborating closely with senior engineers and project teams.\nKey responsibilities include:\nAssist in the design and documentation of plumbing systems for healthcare facilities, including domestic water, sanitary, storm, specialty waste, and medical gas systems\nPerform engineering calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection under the guidance of senior engineers\nDevelop plumbing layouts, schematics, and construction documents in coordination with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, architectural, and structural disciplines\nSupport healthcare-specific design considerations such as infection control, redundancy, code compliance, and reliability of critical systems\nParticipate in quality control reviews to ensure design accuracy, constructability, and adherence to WSP standards and healthcare codes\nAssist with construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits\nPrepare technical documentation, calculations, and reports to support project deliverables\nCollaborate with project teams to meet client schedules, budgets, and performance expectations\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a closely related discipline\n3-5 years of relevant post-graduate experience in plumbing or building systems design\nWorking knowledge of plumbing design principles, codes, and standards (IPC, UPC, NFPA, local AHJ requirements)\nExperience supporting projects within the healthcare, laboratory, or institutional building sectors\nProficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)\nStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented consulting environment\nPreferred Qualifications\nExposure to healthcare plumbing and medical gas systems\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward professional licensure\nFamiliarity with healthcare regulations and guidelines (FGI, ASHRAE healthcare applications, NFPA 99)\nExperience working on projects from design through construction\nWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
