Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and chances to work with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.\nWe are currently looking for a Principal or Associate Tunnelling Engineer, to join our Geotechnical and Tunnelling business to contribute to the growth of the team and diversification into new markets and sectors.\nA little more about your role…\nProducing, checking and approving engineering deliverables including reports, presentations, design calculations and drawings associated with the design of tunnels and shafts.\nWork as part of a dynamic team of tunnelling and geotechnical engineers on diverse projects ranging from micro-tunnels and trenchless solutions to major road and rail schemes at all stages of delivery from feasibility through to construction.\nEffectively managing and delivering project work with robust project financial management.\nAssisting in the management of team resources and allocation of appropriate project resources.\nManaging, motivating, mentoring and developing professional staff.\nProviding support in all aspects of project delivery including client liaison, contractors and sub consultants, public and statutory body consultation, quality control and management of specialists.\nCarry out business development activities including preparation of technical proposals.\nWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate…\nExperience in the management and delivery of tunnelling projects, ideally including multi-disciplinary design coordination, project management, engineering management, programming and preparing deliverables to a high technical level.\nTechnical expertise in civil/structural and geotechnical engineering with a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles as applied to tunnelling schemes.\nConsultancy experience with demonstrably good commercial awareness and relationships with clients & contractors. \nDegree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Structural Engineering\nChartered Engineer or equivalent registration with a relevant professional institution.\nExperience working with Eurocodes and other design standards\nExperience of being part of or leading delivery teams that are effective in delivering short to medium term projects from inception to construction.\nExcellent report-writing and client liaison skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office packages and familiarity with other software packages relevant to tunnelling and geotechnical engineering, such as CAD, Ground Movement Analysis and design packages.\nThe skills to check and critically evaluate the work done by others, be it drawings, calculations or reports, and have a proven track record of doing so.\nDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
