The role combines senior technical delivery, quality oversight and day-to-day management of GCC resources assigned to Canadian projects. Reporting to the Mine Water Team Leader based in GCC India, the successful candidate will coordinate closely with Canadian project managers and technical leaders to align scope, priorities, programme, budget and quality expectations. The role will also develop the capability, consistency and integration of the GCC Mine Water team.\n Lead complex mine water and surface water assignments from conceptual planning through detailed\ndesign and construction or operational support.\nDevelop and review site-wide mine water management strategies, including water balances, climate\nresilience considerations and closure requirements.\nDeliver and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic assessments supporting mine operations,\ninfrastructure, environmental assessment and closure planning.\nLead the design and review of surface water infrastructure, including channels, culverts, diversions,\nspillways, ponds, ditches and erosion or sediment controls.\nIntegrate mine infrastructure, tailings and water management systems into practical, coordinated\nand technically defensible solutions.\nProvide senior technical review, quality assurance and risk-based judgement for work produced by\nGCC resources supporting Canada.\nAct as the principal coordination point for GCC resources, working with the GCC India Mine Water\nTeam Leader and Canadian project leadership.\nMentor engineers and strengthen technical standards, best practices, knowledge sharing and safety\nculture across the team.\nLeadership and Resource Management\nManage the day-to-day delivery of GCC engineers supporting Canadian mine water projects,\nincluding task planning, work allocation, progress monitoring and coordination.\nWork with the Mine Water Team Leader, GCC India, to plan capacity, balance workloads, support\nutilization and identify recruitment or development needs.\nConfirm that assignments have clear scope, budget, schedule, inputs, interfaces, review\nrequirements and acceptance criteria before work begins.\nProvide coaching, technical guidance and structured feedback to support employee development\nand consistent project performance.\nPromote effective collaboration across time zones and maintain clear communication between GCC\nresources and Canada-based project teams.\nEscalate delivery risks, resourcing constraints, technical issues and dependency gaps to the GCC\nIndia Mine Water Team Leader and relevant project leaders.\nTechnical and Project Responsibilities\nLead or review hydrologic studies, flood estimation, rainfall-runoff modelling, snowmelt assessments,\nfrequency analysis and climate-change sensitivity assessments.\nLead or review 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling, floodplain mapping, dam-break or breach\nassessments, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and scour or erosion assessments.\nDevelop and review deterministic and probabilistic mine water balances, operational water\nmanagement plans and water management infrastructure concepts.\nPrepare and review technical reports, design criteria, calculations, drawings, specifications, cost\ninputs, proposals and client presentations.\nSupport project planning and control by monitoring GCC scope, schedule, budget, quality, interfaces\nand change requirements.\nApply relevant Canadian project requirements, client standards and regulatory expectations in\ncoordination with the responsible Canadian professionals.\nContribute to technical innovation, automation, standardization and lessons learned that improve\nquality and delivery efficiency.\nClient and Business Support\nBuild trusted working relationships with Canadian project managers, discipline leads and technical\nspecialists.\nContribute to proposals, work plans, estimates, schedules and staffing strategies for mine water\nopportunities.\nSupport the transfer of suitable project work to the GCC and help define practical work packages,\nreview gates and communication protocols.\nRepresent GCC Mine Water capability in internal technical and resourcing discussions and support\nstrategic capability growth.\n The Skills That Set You Apart\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental\nEngineering or a related discipline.\nTypically 12+ years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, including strong\nconsulting and mining exposure.\nDemonstrated technical leadership on complex, multidisciplinary mine water and surface water\nprojects.\nAdvanced expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, flood risk, mine water management, water balances\nand surface water infrastructure design.\nProficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GoldSim,\nTUFLOW, InfoWorks, PCSWMM or similar, together with GIS tools.\nExperience managing or coordinating engineers in a multidisciplinary and geographically distributed\ndelivery environment.\nStrong technical judgement, quality focus, communication skills and collaborative leadership\ncapability.\nExperience supporting Canadian mining projects or working with Canadian technical and regulatory\nrequirements is highly desirable.\nProfessional Registration\nProfessional engineering registration in India, Canada or another recognised jurisdiction is desirable.\nWhere professional sign-off or a Qualified Professional designation is required, responsibilities will be\nundertaken only within the individual’s authorised jurisdiction, competence and company\ngovernance requirements.\nSuccess in the Role\nSuccess will be demonstrated through
