To find out more about our L&ES business click on the following link and discover what awaits you at WSP: Lighting and Energy Solutions | WSP\nTo meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for a Principal Lighting Engineer to join our Lighting & Energy Solutions team.\nA little more about your role…\nLiaison with colleagues within the Lighting and Energy Solutions team, wider multi-disciplinary design teams, stakeholders and clients.\nCo-ordination of detailed design layouts, engineering detailed drawings and support documentation in accordance with WSPs Quality Assurance and client requirements.\nManage the preparation of feasibility reports and technical notes, optioneering reports and specifications.\nOversee the development of project proposals and mobilise / progress against agreed programme milestones and budget constraints.\nEngagement with Local Authority and Strategic Road Network clients building strong working relationships.\nAnalyse/Evaluate Clients briefs and offer expert guidance and tailored support.\nDevelop and support delivery team members including Early Career Professionals on their career journeys\nRepresent WSP within the lighting industry, fostering industry relationships and driving business development.\nYour team…\nYou will be joining a growing, multi-disciplinary, energetic team of lighting professionals that is highly regarded within the industry, which includes the following specialisms: Electrical and EV, Environmental, Local Government, Architectural and the Strategic Road Network. \nYou will be part of a global network of lighting specialists and experts.\nYou will have the opportunity to join or maintain a professional membership. Mentorship can be provided by team members to assist with upgrades of membership.\nYou will have access to regular CPD sessions on a variety of interesting topics.\nYou will have access to advanced training programs for personal development.\nWe work on projects, in a variety of sectors: Commercial, Urban Realm, Transportation and Infrastructure, with national and local government and private clients.\nWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate…\nExperience in leading projects and teams and should be confident in a management capacity\nA wide knowledge and understanding of external lighting and electrical design standards, guidance, legislation and regulations\nExperience in lighting maintenance operations and asset management\nCan demonstrate competency in lighting design from conception through to issue for construction with experience in the use of Lighting Reality or Dialux lighting design software and AutoCAD\nRisk awareness both in terms of CDM and financial risk with the ability to manage or mitigate accordingly\nThe ability to multitask in a high volume, fast paced work environment and plan work accordingly\nConfidence with proven interpersonal, organisational, analytical, technical and communication skills\nCapable of coaching and developing junior members of the team\nExperience in working within the Local Government or Strategic Road Network sectors\nA good knowledge of external lighting products \nHave a membership of a relevant professional organisation, having achieved IEng / CEng registration with the Engineering Council or actively working towards CEng status\nImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.\nJoin our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
