You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.\nJob Summary:\nProviding expertise in process engineering projects; with particular emphasis on the chemicals, pharmaceutical, food and process related industries.\nEstablishing client requirements and delivering engineering design solutions.\nApplying technical judgment and resourcefulness to investigations, feasibility studies, concept and scheme designs, detailed design and construction support phase of projects.\nCore Functions:\nUndertake and lead process design work for projects and studies including the following typical activities and associated deliverables:-\no Concept design and layout development\no Process descriptions and design basis\no Material balances\no Preparation of process flow diagrams & piping and instrumentation diagrams\no Hazardous area classification/assessment\no Preparation of equipment lists, equipment datasheets, specifications\no Fluids lists and materials selection\no GMP review\no Process hazard studies (including HAZOP) and design safety reviews\no SIL assessment\no Process basis of safety\no Detailed process design calculations\no Pressure relief design\no Utilities schedules, utilities flow diagrams and line sizing\no Preparation of validation documentation\no Commissioning plans and support\nTo ensure technical excellence in process engineering and design.\nCo-ordination of a design to ensure good interface with all other disciplines.\nParticipation in design reviews and technical audits.\nInput into multi-discipline design programmes.\nContributing to processes to maintain change & cost control.\nDevelop the strength of the expertise within the process engineering department.\nSupport/generate cost and hours estimates for proposals, studies and projects.\nAct as Lead Process Engineer on selected projects controlling design, specifications, costs, hours, quality and programme. Managing other engineers on the project.\nMake technical presentations internally, to clients and to outside organisations.\nTo ensure that process safety issues are fully considered within projects eg HAZOP, LOPA, hazardous area classification, SIL reviews.\nKey Interfaces:\nClient: obtaining and presenting design information\nDesign team: working within a multi-discipline team, providing leadership in lead engineer role\nSales team: providing support for proposals\nProject Manager: day to day liaison\nSite team: providing technical support throughout the project\nHead of Engineering: maintaining quality, technical support\nDay to day liaison with other discipline engineers and designers\nSkills and Experience:\nMinimum of 12 years experience in process engineering design on capital projects.\nGood knowledge and experience of process engineering design in fine chemicals, pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical industries.\nExperience of process safety systems design in high hazard industries.\nOperating experience within chemicals or pharmaceutical sectors would be beneficial. Also experience of having worked within a contracting organisation.\nKnowledge of applicable regulatory standards, policies, and codes of practice for the process industries.\nGood interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a multi-discipline team.
