The PFA serves as a trusted business partner to Project Managers, helping to drive project profitability, financial compliance, forecasting accuracy, and overall financial performance across a portfolio of projects.\nThe successful candidate will have strong project finance experience within a professional services, engineering, construction, or consulting environment and possess the ability to influence stakeholders while delivering financial insight and recommendations.\nYour Impact\nFinancial Planning & Project Support\nPartner with Project Managers to support the financial success of projects.\nProvide guidance on project setup, including budgets, work breakdown structures (WBS), billing methods, and rates.\nReview project financial performance and identify risks and opportunities.\nSupport project forecasting, revenue recognition, and profitability management.\nAnalyze labor utilization, project costs, and margins to improve project performance.\nAdvise teams on project funding, contract requirements, and financial controls.\nFinancial Oversight & Compliance\n\nReview project and contract structures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.\nMonitor contract terms, billing requirements, and revenue recognition methods.\nEnsure adherence to WSP financial policies, procedures, and delegated authorities.\nSupport audit requests and maintain complete and accurate financial documentation.\nAssist with compliance reporting requirements, where applicable.\nForecasting & Financial Analysis\n\nPrepare and review project forecasts, budgets, and financial projections.\nAnalyze project performance against financial targets and KPIs.\nIdentify financial variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.\nSupport working capital management, revenue accruals, and project cash flow activities.\nProvide financial reporting and commentary to project and finance leadership.\nPortfolio Performance Management\n\nMonitor financial performance across multiple projects.\nParticipate in project review meetings and present financial insights.\nIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting project profitability.\nSupport project closeout activities and ensure financial obligations are completed.\nEscalate significant financial concerns and recommend solutions to management.\nCollaboration & Business Partnering\n\nPartner with Project Managers, Finance Business Partners, Accounting, Procurement, Billing, and Operations teams.\nSupport initiatives focused on process improvements and operational efficiency.\nProvide financial guidance to project teams and stakeholders.\nPromote strong financial controls and governance across the business.\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.\nProfessional accounting or finance designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA, CGA, or equivalent) preferred.\n5-7 years of project accounting, project finance, commercial finance, or related experience, preferably within engineering, construction, environmental, consulting, or professional services organizations.\nStrong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.\nExperience supporting medium to large, complex project portfolios.\nAdvanced proficiency in financial analysis, variance analysis, and project performance reporting.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).\nExperience using Power BI or similar reporting and data visualization tools preferred.\nDemonstrated ability to interpret contract financial terms and assess project financial risk.\nProven ability to influence and build relationships with project teams, operational leaders, and finance partners.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting engineering, infrastructure, environmental, or professional services projects.\nExperience with EAC/ETC forecasting methodologies.\nExperience supporting revenue recognition, WIP management, and contract compliance activities.\nExperience working with geographically diverse and matrixed project teams.\nWSP Benefits:\nWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
