Manager - Power & Energy\nLocations: Sydney | Newcastle | Brisbane | Adelaide\nThe Opportunity\nWSP’s Power & Energy team is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of major power infrastructure projects across Australia.\nBased in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane or Adelaide, you’ll manage multidisciplinary projects across transmission, distribution and substation infrastructure, renewables and/or power generation working closely with our engineering teams, clients and project partners.\nThis is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from early planning and design through to delivery and close-out, balancing the technical, commercial and client-facing aspects of project management.\nYou’ll join a collaborative national team and contribute to a growing pipeline of work supporting Australia’s evolving energy and power infrastructure needs.\nWhat you’ll do\nAs a Project Manager within our Power & Energy team, you will:\nLead multidisciplinary teams delivering transmission, distribution and substation, renewables and power generation projects.\nManage projects across the full lifecycle, from proposals and project initiation through engineering, delivery and close-out.\nDevelop and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, forecasts and resourcing plans.\nMonitor project financial performance, including costs, margins, invoicing, cash flow and forecasting.\nManage project risks, changes and commercial matters, identifying issues early and driving practical solutions.\nCoordinate engineering, design, project controls, procurement and other disciplines to support successful project delivery.\nEstablish appropriate project governance, reporting, quality and safety requirements.\nBuild strong relationships with clients and act as a key point of contact throughout project delivery.\nSupport contract negotiations, scope development, project proposals and commercial discussions.\nWork closely with technical and discipline leads to ensure engineering deliverables meet project, client and quality requirements.\nCoordinate internal resources, specialist expertise, suppliers and subcontractors as required.\nProvide clear project reporting on programme, budget, risk, scope and overall performance.\nSupport lessons learned and project close-out activities to continuously improve how we deliver our work.\nContribute to the continued growth and development of WSP’s Power & Energy business in Australia.\nAbout you\nWe’re looking for someone who combines strong project management capability with an understanding of engineering and infrastructure delivery.\nIdeally, you will bring:\nA tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.\nApproximately 4+ years’ experience across engineering, infrastructure or project delivery environments.\nDemonstrated project management experience within power, energy, utilities or major infrastructure.\nExperience delivering transmission, distribution, substations or other complex electrical infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.\nA strong understanding of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, delivery, commissioning and close-out.\nExperience managing budgets, programmes, forecasts, project controls, risks and commercial outcomes.\nStrong commercial awareness and an ability to understand the relationship between technical delivery and project financial performance.\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.\nStrong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.\nExcellent communication, organisation and problem-solving capability.\nA collaborative leadership style and the confidence to take ownership of project outcomes.\nA strong commitment to health, safety, quality and sustainable project delivery.\nFlexibility
