This role is responsible for delivery excellence across the full project lifecycle - from early development through commissioning and operations.\nThe position plays a key role in strengthening WSP’s renewable energy engineering platform by establishing consistent renewable energy standards, scalable delivery models, and high-quality client outcomes. The engineer will be involved in projects with our Systems Engineering Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.\n Design and model solar PV systems, Wind and BESS for utility-scale, commercial, and microgrid applications using PVsyst, PVcase, and AutoCAD.\nPerform layout optimization, shading analysis, energy yield simulations, and loss assessments.\nUse NREL’s SAM or other bankable software for financial modeling, performance forecasting, and system cost-benefit analysis.\nConduct site assessments, review topographical data, and analyze meteorological datasets (e.g., TMY, DNI, GHI).\nDevelop and maintain bill of materials (BOM), schematics, and as-built drawings.\nCoordinate with interconnection, civil, and structural teams to ensure complete system integration.\nSupport permitting, interconnection applications, and technical documentation for proposals and contracts.\nDevelop augmentation optimization models for BESS systems\nDevelop vendor-specific system RTE calculations and ensure desired BESS output\nCollaborate with project managers, EPC partners, and other stakeholders to ensure design quality and technical compliance.\nStay current on codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEEE, IEC) relevant to solar system design.\n Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.\n2+ years of experience in solar PV + BESS system design, preferably across utility, commercial, and microgrid scales.\nProficient in AutoCAD, PVcase, PVsyst, and NREL SAM.\nA good understanding of North America markets, such as familiarity with North American EPC’s, Vendors etc. \nStrong understanding of PV system components, design standards, and layout strategies.\nStrong understanding of BESS system components, design standards, and US fire safety codes\nStrong understanding of battery chemistries (LFP, NMC, NCA, Flow batteries etc)\nAbility to read and produce engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, and site plans.\nSolid knowledge of PV technologies, racking systems, and BOS (balance of system) components.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience working on PV + storage systems or hybrid renewable microgrids.\nFamiliarity with civil/site constraints, interconnection guidelines, and permitting processes.\nExposure to Helioscope, PlantPredict, or similar modeling tools is a plus.\nEIT, PE license, or NABCEP certification is desirable but not required.\nTechnical writing and publication experience\nPreferred Competency\nStrong technical judgment and decision-making ability\n\nClient-focused and collaborative style\n\nAbility to balance technical rigor with project delivery needs\n\nClear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences\n\nCommitment to safety, quality, and professional excellence.\n\nBGV:\nEmployment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.\n\nCandidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process -
