Our Transmission & Electrification team partners with clients across sectors-Transmission & Distribution, Generation, Renewables, Transportation, Property & Buildings, Defence, Water, and Mining-to deliver Future Ready solutions.\nWe’re looking for a Secondary Design Engineer to provide critical electrical engineering expertise on major projects and mentor the next generation of engineers. This role can be based anywhere in Australia, with teams in NSW, VIC, QLD, and SA.\nWe are accepting applications from experienced engineers through to Senior Engineers who are ready to make an impact.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign and review secondary systems and protection schemes for transmission and distribution projects \nPrepare technical documentation-design reports, equipment specs, cable schedules, and interface documents \nApply knowledge of primary substation elements, transmission lines, underground cables, and earthing design \nSupport high-voltage scopes for Owner’s Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects \nLead or support design projects and coordinate across disciplines (Primary, SCADA, Power Systems, Structural, Drafting) \nUndertake short-term site visits as needed \nAbout You\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering \n2-10 years’ experience in the technical delivery of transmission and distribution projects (ideally in consultancy) \nStrong background in secondary design-protection, control, AC/DC systems, SCADA \nKnowledge of EHV/HV electrical engineering from concept to detailed design \nKnowledge of IEC61850 implementation highly desirable \nRPEQ/RPEV or ability to attain \nGood client-facing and communication skills \nSkilled in technical reporting \nWhy WSP?\nWe offer more than a job, we offer a career with purpose:\nFlexible work options and purchased leave \nGlobal mobility and career pathways \nUp to 16 weeks of paid parental leave and family-first policies \nProfessional development and mentoring \nEmployee recognition programs and wellness initiatives \nImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.\nJoin our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
