The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for CAD and BIM delivery, coordinate and mentor CAD resources, perform detailed quality reviews, and help the team deliver accurate, coordinated, and constructible civil and structural drawings.\nThis role is well suited to a senior technician or designer with strong experience in structural and civil drafting, multidisciplinary coordination, quality control, and digital delivery for power, utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.\n Technical delivery\nLead the preparation, review, and delivery of civil, structural, and substation design drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit, and other approved CAD and BIM platforms.\n\nDevelop and maintain 2D drawings (and 3D models) for substation structures, foundations, equipment support structures, control and switchgear buildings, duct banks, cable trenches, site development, grading, drainage, and underground utilities.\n\nPrepare plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, reinforcement details, structural steel drawings, and fabrication-related drawings based on engineering direction and project requirements.\n\nConvert coordinated 3D models into accurate 2D construction documents and maintain consistency between models, drawings, schedules, and design data.\n\nInterpret engineering markups, calculations, vendor information, client standards, and design criteria and incorporate requirements accurately into models and drawings.\n\nReview and resolve drawing comments, redlines, and coordination issues and verify that revisions are fully and correctly incorporated.\n\nQuality and digital delivery\nPerform detailed self-checks and quality control reviews before internal checking and submission.\n\nEnsure deliverables comply with WSP CAD standards, client drafting requirements, project specifications, and applicable document-control procedures.\n\nDevelop, maintain, and improve CAD templates, layer standards, model and drawing procedures, BIM execution requirements, and project-specific drafting guidance.\n\nUse the approved common data environment and document-management systems to issue, file, and maintain models, drawings, schedules, and design data in the correct locations.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality through standardization, automation, and improved CAD and BIM workflows.\n\nCoordination and leadership\nServe as a technical lead for CAD and BIM delivery and provide guidance on modeling methods, drafting standards, and digital workflows.\n\nCoordinate closely with structural and civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, and other disciplines to develop accurate and constructible designs.\n\nPlan and coordinate CAD activities across multiple assignments, communicate progress, and promptly identify schedule, resource, quality, or coordination risks.\n\nSupervise and coordinate CAD designers and drafters supporting multiple substation projects.\n\nMentor junior and intermediate CAD staff through technical guidance, drawing reviews, knowledge sharing, and practical training.\n\nAssist project managers and engineering leads with work planning, CAD effort estimates, delivery schedules, and resource forecasting.\n\nWork effectively across cultures, offices, and disciplines while maintaining clear written and verbal communication in English.\n\nHealth, safety, and continuous improvement\nEmbed health and safety considerations into models, drawings, and day-to-day work practices in accordance with company requirements.\n\nPromote a culture of quality, collaboration, technical excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement.\n\nMaintain and expand technical capability by learning new software, digital processes, and emerging design-delivery methods.\n Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.\n\n6 to 10 years of CAD design and production experience for power, utility, industrial, infrastructure, or substation projects.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in AutoCAD and demonstrated experience producing coordinated construction drawings.\n\nPractical experience with Autodesk applications such as Revit, Navisworks, Vault, BIM 360, or Autodesk Construction Cloud.\n\nExperience producing drawings for structural concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, foundations, equipment supports, and underground ductbanks.\n\nStrong understanding of engineering drawings, construction-document practices, drafting standards, revision control, and quality management processes.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, estimate the effort required for assigned work, and meet agreed delivery dates.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting North American electric utility or substation projects.\n\nKnowledge of substation layouts, equipment foundations, steel support structures, control or switchgear buildings, cable trenches, and duct bank systems.\n\nExperience developing or implementing CAD standards, templates, and BIM execution procedures.\n\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary 3D models and resolving model or drawing conflicts.\n\nFamiliarity with CAD and workflow automation tools such as AutoLISP.\n\nExperience providing technical direction, mentoring staff, or coordinating CAD resources across multiple projects.\n\nBGV:\nEmployment with WSP India is subject to successful completion of the applicable
