You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.\nA little more about your role…\nWe are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Engineer to support our regional Development Team based in Cardiff, focusing on civil engineering for development infrastructure across Wales and the UK with international opportunities.\nYou will work within a team to lead and produce designs and drawings for construction projects and deliver technical reports for masterplanning and in support of planning applications. You can expect to be active on several projects and client accounts at any given time. You will report to a senior member of the Development Team. Your role will involve:\nDay to day project management in the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issue\nTaking financial responsibility for your projects and being responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to budget, programme and technical standards\nWorking on varied multi-disciplinary projects and client accounts, liaising with clients at a local and national level\nDirect line management, including mentoring and managing early career professionals ensuring technical excellence is in everything we deliver\nAssisting in the preparation of fee proposals, and involvement in business development activities\nHelping maintain the culture and positive working environment in the team\nOur team work on some of the most prestigious developments in Wales and the UK, and you will be helping deliver projects such as:\nHinkley Point C\n50 Storey Central Cardiff Tower (Wales tallest building)\nNorth East Cardiff (Wales second largest residential scheme)\nHS2 Curzon Street Station, Birmingham\nOxford Science Park\nGreenwich Peninsula\nAston Villa FC, Birmingham\nBahrain International Sports City, Bahrain.\nThe Development Team is a well-established and high performing discipline within the Planning and Development business unit which includes over 800 colleagues focused on project delivery through the whole project life cycle, from initial land acquisition, planning support and design, through to scheme implementation\nOur vision is to be recognised as the strongest and best Development team in the industry. Some of the multi-disciplinary services we provide that you will help deliver include:\nCivil engineering, highways design and earthworks strategies\nUtilities, energy planning and coordination\nDrainage, flood risk and SuDS\nSite appraisal, due diligence, and strategic planning advice.\nWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate…\nPreferably a Civil Engineering degree and either be Chartered or approaching Chartered status with experience in highway and highway drainage design\nStrong post graduate experience in a civil engineering working environment\nThe ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, write reports to support planning applications, design calculations and construction drawings\nA solid engineering foundation and an understanding of highway design and highway drainage principles (layout, etc.)\nExperience in using Civils 3D or PDS (or similar software packages) together with experience in applying Highways England/DMRB and Local Authority design guidance\nExperience in design of drainage using InfoDrainage and a background in Water Company related work inclusive of the relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, DMRB and Local Authority Design Guides, and to be well versed in the preparation of drawings for\nContract Documents and requisite technical agreements\n\nThe ability to work effectively with colleagues including more senior and junior staff in producing designs, drawings and reports is essential.\nDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
