As a Senior Highway Designer/Engineer, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, influence strategic decisions, and ensure excellence on projects that define mobility for generations.\nThis is more than a job-it’s your opportunity to leave a legacy to join our Ontario Highway Design Team in one of our offices (Mississauga, Ottawa or Thornhill).\nWhy This Role Matters:\nStrategic Leadership: Be the trusted advisor for clients and internal teams, guiding projects from concept to completion.\nHigh-Impact Projects: Work on major infrastructure initiatives-from multi-lane freeways to advanced transportation systems-that define the future of Canadian highways.\nInnovation Champion: Introduce cutting-edge design methodologies and digital solutions to keep WSP at the forefront of the industry.\nMentorship & Influence: Shape the next generation of engineers while collaborating with senior leaders across disciplines.\nYour Impact\nLead technical delivery of highway and drainage designs using advanced tools (OpenRoads, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Microsoft Project)\nOversee design schedules, budgets, and quality standards to ensure flawless execution\nAct as a liaison with clients, providing strategic input and building long-term relationships\nDrive proposal development and contribute to WSP’s “Future Ready” initiatives\nReview and validate designs, ensuring compliance and excellence\nMentor junior staff and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nDegree or diploma in Civil Engineering\n10-20+ years of experience in highway/roadway design (MTO projects preferred)\nP.Eng or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist designation\nProven experience with Design-Build/P3 projects\nDeep knowledge of Ontario environmental standards and design manuals\nFamiliarity with OpenRoads, MTO CPS/HICO, and BIM (assets)\nExceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects independently\nCompensation\nAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $115 700 - $155 400\nMB & ON: $105 500 - $147 400\nNB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $104 500 - $140 700\nDisclosure:\nThe final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
