To find out more about our L&ES business click on the following link and discover what awaits you at WSP: Lighting and Energy Solutions | WSP\nTo meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for a Senior Lighting Engineer to join our Lighting & Energy Solutions team.\nA little more about your role...\nAs a Senior Lighting Designer, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable lighting solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with colleagues, clients and stakeholders, you'll help shape projects from early concept through to construction, ensuring high-quality outcomes that enhance the built environment.\nIn this role, you will:\nCollaborate with lighting specialists, multidisciplinary design teams, clients and stakeholders to deliver outstanding project outcomes.\nProduce detailed design layouts, engineering detailed drawings and support documentation in accordance with WSPs Quality Assurance and client requirements.\nPrepare feasibility reports and technical notes, optioneering reports and specifications.\nEngage with luminaire, column, controls and electrical manufacturers\nCo-ordinate with contractors including site support, responding to RFI’s and TQ’s.\nComplete non-intrusive site visits to support the development of lighting assessments and site clearance drawings.\nSupport with the development of project proposals and progress against agreed programme milestones and budget constraints.\nLiaise with Local Authority and Strategic Road Network clients building strong working relationships.\nAnalyse/evaluate Client briefs and offer expert guidance and tailored support.\nGuide junior team members and Early Career Professionals on their career journeys\nRepresent WSP within the lighting industry, fostering industry relationships and driving business development.\nYour team...\nYou'll be joining a growing, collaborative and highly respected team of lighting professionals who are passionate about creating safer, more sustainable and better-connected communities.\nOur team works across a range of specialisms, including:\nLocal Government\nStrategic Road Network\nElectrical and EV Infrastructure\nEnvironmental Lighting\nArchitectural Lighting\nWhat makes this opportunity special?\nYou will be joining a growing, multi-disciplinary team of lighting professionals that is highly regarded within the industry, which includes the following specialisms: Electrical and EV, Environmental, Local Government, Architectural and the Strategic Road Network. \nYou'll contribute to projects that make a visible difference to communities, businesses and infrastructure across the UK and beyond.\nYou'll have access to structured development opportunities, advanced training programmes and regular CPD sessions.\nWe'll support your professional development, including maintaining or progressing professional memberships and Engineering Council registration.\nYou'll work on a diverse range of projects spanning transportation, infrastructure, urban realm and commercial developments for both public and private sector clients.\nWhat we are looking for you to demonstrate….\nWe're keen to hear from people who are passionate about lighting design and enjoy finding innovative solutions to complex challenges as well as\nExperience using Lighting Reality and/or DIALux, together with AutoCAD.\nA strong understanding of external lighting standards, legislation, guidance and best practice.\nGood knowledge of electrical design principles and lighting maintenance considerations.\nExperience delivering lighting design projects from concept through to construction.\nUnderstanding of central management systems\nStrong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.\nA desire to support, coach and develop others.\nExperience working with Local Authority and/or Strategic Road Network clients.\nKnowledge of external lighting products and technologies.\nMembership of a relevant professional institution, with EngTech status achieved or a clear ambition to progress towards IEng accreditation.\nAbove all, we're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is passionate about making a positive impact through great design, and wants to help shape the future of lighting at WSP.\nImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.\nWork on landmark projects around the world and embrace opportunities to make an even bigger impact in the communities you care about.
