You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.\nAbout your role...\nWe are looking for a Senior or Principal Engineer to join our growing Liveable Places team in Newcastle, with hybrid working available.\nWSP's Liveable Places team works with a wide range of local authority & private clients from across the UK to help them achieve their place making ambitions. As a Principal Engineer within the team, you will take the lead on delivering a wide range of schemes from concept to delivery - including public realm, active travel, traffic engineering, road safety, parking, traffic signals and traffic modelling. Your role will also be to support in bid preparation and to develop and mentor more junior colleagues.\nThis is a varied role with responsibilities including:\nPreparing and overseeing the delivery of multiple sustainable transport and public realm projects from early concept and business case development through to detailed design and on-site implementation.\nManage project programmes, budgets, risks, reporting and change control to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.\nInvolvement in the management of internal and external client relationships.\nCollaborative working with team members and other business disciplines.\nSupport the successful delivery of projects in line with WSP project management frameworks, APM best practice and relevant health and safety requirements.\nContribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture and support the continued growth of the Liveable Places team.\nAbout the Liveable Places Team…\nThe Liveable Places team are based in offices across the country with over 200 staff, currently making up the team and with further growth planned. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop in your career through exposure to a wide variety of experiences.\nWe have a strong track record working closely with our clients and this role provides a great opportunity to have a pivotal role within Liveable Places and help support and steer its growth going forward.\nWhat we’re looking for...\nHND or degree in Civil Engineering / other relevant degree or equivalent work experience. \nStrong experience delivering highways, public realm or transport infrastructure projects from concept through to construction.\nTechnical knowledge and experience in the assessment and design of highways / transportation engineering projects\nExperience delivering public realm, active travel or transport schemes in complex urban environments.\nProven ability to manage project programmes, budgets, cost control and financial reporting across multiple live projects.\nExperience in the application of design standards and current good practice in scheme design.\nA proactive, collaborative and delivery-focused approach, with strong communication and organisational skills.\nExperience with software including: AutoCAD, AutoTrack, KeySign, KeyLine or Civil 3d .\nDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
