You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams while mentoring future leaders and advancing industry best practices in tailings stewardship, dam safety, and sustainable mine development.\n#GlobalMining #ERI_Opportunities #carrières_ERI\nYour Impact\nServe as a senior technical authority for tailings and mine waste facilities, providing strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle from concept through closure.\nLead and provide oversight on the planning, design, review, and optimization of tailings storage facilities, mine waste facilities, and related infrastructure.\nAct as Engineer of Record (EOR), Independent Technical Reviewer, or senior technical advisor on major mining projects.\nAdvise clients on dam safety, risk management, regulatory compliance, governance frameworks, and industry-leading practices.\nBuild and maintain executive-level relationships with mining clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders.\nLead major pursuits, strategic proposals, and business development initiatives that contribute to the continued growth of WSP's Mine Waste practice.\nIdentify emerging market opportunities and help define the long-term strategy and technical direction of the practice.\nProvide technical leadership and quality oversight across complex multidisciplinary projects, ensuring excellence in delivery and risk management.\nRepresent WSP externally through industry conferences, technical committees, professional associations, publications, and thought leadership initiatives.\nMentor senior engineers and technical leaders while fostering succession planning and capability development across the organization.\nCollaborate with regional and national leadership teams to strengthen client relationships, expand market presence, and support revenue growth objectives.\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Geological, or related Engineering discipline.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and eligibility to practice in Ontario.\n15+ years of progressive experience in mine waste, tailings engineering, dam safety, or related geotechnical disciplines.\nExtensive experience leading the design, assessment, and management of tailings storage facilities, waste rock facilities, heap leach facilities, and water retention structures.\nDemonstrated experience serving as Engineer of Record, Independent Technical Reviewer, or providing equivalent senior technical oversight.\nRecognized technical expertise in tailings management, geotechnical engineering, and dam safety.\nStrong understanding of Canadian and international regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and governance requirements related to mine waste facilities.\nProven success developing strategic client relationships and securing major project opportunities.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring senior technical professionals.\nActive participation in professional organizations such as CDA, ICOLD, ANCOLD, MAC, or equivalent industry groups is considered a strong asset.\nEstablished record of technical publications, conference presentations, or industry leadership activities is an asset.\nWillingness to travel as required to support clients and projects across Canada and internationally.\nWhy Choose WSP?\nWhy Choose WSP?
