Our office provides a quality, flexible and dynamic working space focused on the health and wellbeing of our staff and benefits from cutting-edge design, large amounts of natural light and large open spaces.\nA little more about the role..\nYou will be joining our expanding Building Structures team, as a Senior or a Principal Engineer, with responsibility for the project management, technical leadership and delivery of schemes from inception through to handover of the completed scheme to the client.\nIn this role you’ll have the opportunity to:\nDevelop innovative and sustainable designs from concept, for a huge range of challenging projects, ranging from transportation hubs, and tall towers to healthcare, defence and education schemes, all with national and local architects.\nTake a key Technical leadership role on multi-disciplinary design projects from concept stage through to detailed design, in coordination with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants.\nParticipate in tender bids and business development opportunities as they arise\nAgree fees and manage the commercial position on projects\nExercise independent judgement and resolve technical issues\nYou’ll be joining a team of diverse and talented individuals that work together to:\nOwn and lead the design process, encouraging yours and wider teams to deliver the right solutions to the agreed programme, and support those less experienced by technical review, mentoring and advice\nManage processes to ensure technical issues and risks are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner\nform strong working relationships with other WSP disciplines, external design consultants, stakeholders and clients.\nprovide sustainable development solutions from site selection through to detailed design and construction.\nprovide specialist advice and design solutions to our clients on sustainable design, net zero carbon, MMC & DfMA.\nReporting to a senior member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and high profile major multi-disciplinary development projects across the region, categorised into wide variety of sectors including Transportation, High-rise, Commercial & Mixed use, Retail, Education, and Healthcare, including recent wins in the Defence sector.\nWhat we would like you to demonstrate.\nDegree or HNC/HND qualification in a relevant discipline\nChartered or following a path to Chartership\nSolid experience in Civil & Structural detailed design;\nDetailed working knowledge of national codes and standards\nProven understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts as well as experienced in producing calculations\nExperience of working with structural design software packages such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds and Experience in CAD software such as Revit would be beneficial.\nExperience of working with clients and contractors with a diverse range of objectives in achieving a technical solution\n\nImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.\nJoin our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
