You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.\nA little more about your role…\nYou’ll be working alongside a host of talented people ranging from our early career professionals to established engineers and project managers working across the Roads business to improve the local and strategic networks.\nWorking in partnership with National Highways and Local Authority clients across the region you could find yourself immersed in a diverse range of projects including active travel, digital design (including 3D modelling), strategic network improvements, major and minor maintenance, alignment, road safety as well as public realm. The role will offer an interesting and varied workload - from major strategic highways projects such as Smart Motorways through to a diverse range of small and medium local authority highways infrastructure improvement schemes.\nYou will:\nPrepare of designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads Bridges (DMRB).\nDevelop designs using AutoCAD, and Civil3D.\nDeliver work packages with scope to move up to managing schemes and multi-disciplinary teams.\nProvide support to Project Managers within the design team in planning, programming, technical input to the pricing of project briefs, proposals, deliverables and cost estimation.\nBe accountable for checking, certifying and authorising for issue designs, documents, approvals, and reports.\nManage graduate engineers and technicians to deliver work packages coordinating engineering resources.\nWork collaboratively with clients and key stakeholders as necessary to deliver the schemes/projects.\nMentor and upskill more junior staff helping them develop professionally and progress towards professional qualifications.\nWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate…\nA degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent within a highway design role.\nWorking towards IEng or CEng status with a professional institute. Professional qualifications is advantageous.\nHighways design experience in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).\nExperience of complying with Designers Duties under CDM\nExperience in delivery geometric designs using AutoDesk Civils 3D is advantageous.\nAn extensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation, standards and procedures including the application of departures from standard.\nNEC and/or Project Management experience is advantageous.\nA passion for design and developing innovative solutions.\nTo demonstrate initiative and ingenuity in solving engineering problems.\nImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.\nJoin our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
