Reporting to the Manager, Rail Systems Engineering, you will collaborate with Chief Engineers, technical specialists, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex signaling solutions for commuter rail, subway, light rail, and heavy rail projects.\nIn this role, you will apply your transferable skills to define engineering processes, develop execution plans, mentor junior team members, and play a part in delivering multiple projects. You will be supported by leadership to grow your professional capabilities and strengthen your impact as a leader in a consulting environment.\nYour Impact\nContribute to the development and analysis of rail signaling systems.\nPerform signaling calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement documents, and design packages for construction and implementation.\nProvide detailed technical checks of signaling and circuit designs produced by internal teams and third-party consultants.\nDevelop compliant signaling schemes aligned with industry standards, codes, client specifications, and rail operating rules.\nServe as a technical resource across projects, ensuring quality, safety, and consistency of signaling designs.\nEngage with clients to communicate technical concepts clearly and resolve complex engineering challenges.\nPlan and execute project work while balancing scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario or eligible for registration or Engineer-in-Training (EIT).\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Rail Systems Engineering or equivalent signaling disciplines.\nDemonstrated expertise in conventional signaling systems, including braking calculations, control tables, schematics, and phasing plans.\nA knowledge of Computer Based Train Control would be an asset\nStrong working knowledge of applicable rail industry codes, standards, and operating rules.\nProven ability to collaborate in technical teams in a consulting environment.\nPMP certification considered an asset.\nWhy Choose WSP?\nWhy Choose WSP?
