As the GIS Team Leader you will work with a multi-disciplinary team of technical staff in GIS, AutoCAD and web development/full stack development to create a team culture, act as liaison to the Canadian team by contributing to the growth of the GCC services within the Environment Business Line and ensure timely and quality delivery of projects. As the GIS Technician, you will work within the GAM, GADI and CDD teams to assist with data management, mapping activities, and modelling activities related to environmental investigations, rehabilitation, and regeneration projects for private and public clients. Mapping activities would be based on input and requests from the Ecology team in Ontario, Canada. Responsibilities also include working with other GCC team members to ensure Quality Assurance/Quality control in both communication with the larger Ecology team, and work products being delivered. All deliverables produced shall comply with WSP standards and procedures.\n The GIS Team Lead role would involve:\nBuild and maintain internal client relationships with the Canadian team to ensure ease of communication and work quality.\nYou will liaise with multiple stakeholders from different regions and ensure the pipeline of works.\nYou will collaborate with other GCC regions for best practice sharing and cross-collabrations\nYou'll act as a leader/mentor to the GCC Earth & Environment team to ensure the communication and quality of work output are up to WSP standards.\nYou will complete Quality Control/Quality Assurance checks to ensure work quality and output are up to expected Quality Standards.\nSupport the sustainability strategy for WSP. Contribute to the technical capabilities of the Environmental team through provision of training.\nThis is a techno-managerial role, which requires to support on the projects or the bid preparations as required. \nThe GIS portion of role would involve:\nUse GIS and spatial analysis tools to build and maintain geospatial databases including digitising, data conversion, feature attribution, and editing of GIS layers.\nCapture required topographic layers from imagery and other sources.\nProduction of maps and figures to be used in reports and studies, in compliance with WSP quality management system (QMS).\nProactively identify improvements to enhance the company’s GIS service to clients.\nAttend to team and project needs as required, and respond within agreed timeframes.\nProvide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to GAM and GADI teams.\n Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications\nA minimum of 7 years directing staff, providing QA/QC, contributing to growth of a team\nA minimum of 15+ years of experience in providing GIS support for large multidisciplinary projects.\nDemonstrated proficiency of GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro , AGOL, ArcGIS mobile field applications, ERDAS[MM1] [CE2] , and ETL tools (e.g. FME) \nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills in English.\nProven ability to manage a team of GIS professionals.\nAttention to detail and Proven Ability to Review others work for QA/QC.\nAbility to work in a very dynamic and demanding work environment.\nAbility to work independently with minimal oversight.\nDesired Skills\nCAD experience desirable.\nBasic knowledge of coding (Python, Arcade, R) is desirable.\nInternational experience is preferred.\nBilingualism in English and French is a strong differentiator\nQualifications\nDegree in Geography, GIS Database, Geology, Environmental Science or other related field, or equivalent experience.\nBGV:\nEmployment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.\nCandidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process -
