As a Traffic Engineer-in-Training, you'll contribute to projects that improve mobility, support growing communities, and enhance the daily travel experience for thousands of people. Working alongside experienced transportation professionals, you'll build your technical expertise while supporting innovative transportation and traffic engineering solutions for municipal, provincial, and private sector clients.\nYour Impact\nSupport transportation and traffic engineering studies through data collection, analysis, technical documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. \nAnalyze traffic operations using industry-standard software such as Synchro and SimTraffic to help evaluate transportation performance. \nPrepare traffic forecasts, trip generation analyses, and transportation impact assessments that influence future infrastructure decisions. \nDevelop technical reports, memoranda, graphics, and presentation materials that clearly communicate project findings and recommendations. \nContribute to site plan reviews, access evaluations, parking assessments, and vehicle circulation analyses that support smart development.\nParticipate in field investigations, traffic counts, parking studies, and site inspections to collect meaningful transportation data. \nCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and technical specialists to deliver high-quality transportation solutions. \nUphold WSP's commitment to health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement while contributing to a collaborative team environment. \nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nDegree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with an interest in transportation or traffic engineering.\nRegistered, or eligible to register, as an Engineer-in-Training with the applicable provincial engineering association. \nUp to four years of experience in transportation engineering, municipal infrastructure, land development, or a related field. \nUnderstanding of transportation planning, traffic engineering principles, road safety, and multimodal transportation systems.\nExperience with tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTURN, GIS, or comparable software is considered an asset.\nDemonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and present technical transportation data with accuracy and attention to detail. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare concise technical documentation.\nValid driver's licence and willingness to participate in field work and site investigations when required.\nWhy Choose WSP?\nWhy Choose WSP?
