Through our Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, networking opportunities and lifelong career connections.\nOur Dallas Traffic Team is seeking a Full-Time Traffic Engineering Intern, P0 to work out of our Dallas office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.\nThis internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program. As a summer intern, you have the opportunity to participate in our 12-week program scheduled to start on May 17th, 2027. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.\nYour Impact\nAssist with traffic engineering studies, including traffic counts, intersection analysis, and field observations. \nSupport traffic signal design, signing, pavement marking, and traffic control plan development. \nAssist with traffic operational and safety analyses using available traffic data. \nPrepare engineering calculations, exhibits, spreadsheets, technical memoranda, and reports. \nReview roadway plans and assist with identifying traffic engineering and operational considerations. \nSupport field data collection and document existing roadway, signal, pedestrian, and bicycle conditions. \nAssist project teams with CAD/GIS exhibits and other project deliverables. \nPerform quality checks of calculations, plans, and technical documentation under supervision. \nCoordinate with engineers and other disciplines to support project delivery.\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nActively enrolled in an accredited Civil and Traffic Engineering, or related, Undergraduate (preferably junior) or Graduate program with an anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.\nMust be 18 or older.\nDemonstrated interest in Transportation, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.\nCompetent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.\nCapable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.\nBasic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.\nProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.\nAuthorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience using Openroads designer or Bentley related software’s.
