Be involved in projects with our Small Utility Services team and be part of a growing organization that helps clients achieve their objectives and solve complex challenges.\nAs a Transmission Line Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing team members, leading projects, advocating for clients, and strengthening existing relationships. This role focuses on leading transmission line design projects for electric cooperative, municipal, and public utility district clients while supporting WSP’s commitment to serving local public power utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing projects while helping team members enhance their transmission design capabilities.\nYour Impact\nTake the helm on transmission projects while providing guidance and support to junior engineers and designers\nFormulate project scope documents, establish budgets, and create and maintain schedules\nChair client project meetings and facilitate effective communication between clients, managers, and internal teams to ensure project alignment with requirements, scope and schedule\nAddress client inquiries spanning various technical areas and appropriately manage client expectations\nExhibit eagerness to expand expertise beyond transmission into other design disciplines\nExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures\nPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience\n5+ years of relevant post education experience as an engineer providing design deliverables in the power industry\nEngineer in Training Certification\nExperience managing small to mid-size projects\nExperience performing substation, transmission and/or distribution design for electric cooperatives\nDemonstrate proficiency in PLS-CADD design software\nDemonstrate proficiency in the NESC\nAbility to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek\nA valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record\nProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies\nOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements\nPreferred Qualifications\nEssential Professional Licensure/Certification\nExperience with the RUS Transmission Design Guide\nMaster’s degree in engineering\nWSP Benefits\nWSP offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' health, well-being, and financial security throughout their careers.
