This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.\nThis internship is anticipated to take place during the Spring 2027 Semester with potential to extend through the Summer 2027 Semester.\nYour Impact\nSupport a variety of urban and transportation planning tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.\nLearn basic principles of urban planning and transportation planning.\nAssist with project research, technical analysis, technical writing using layperson language, and occasional field work.\nSupport preparation of: Regional transportation plans\nCorridor planning studies\nTransit studies\nUrban planning studies\nGeneral task management materials\nPublic involvement materials\nMarketing materials\n\nCollect, analyze, and interpret data (economic, demographic, land use, fiscal, etc.).\nOccasional local travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.\nGenerate maps and visualization tools using aerial photographs, topographic data, GPS data, and other inputs to determine project areas and associated impacts.\nComplete training on assigned tasks.\nExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.\nPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.\nPlease note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship. \nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\nActively enrolled in an accredited transportation planning, urban and regional planning, civil engineering, geography, history, life science, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.\nDemonstrated interest in Transportation Planning or related field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.\nAbility to effectively present and communicate ideas orally and in writing.\nCritical, strategic, and creative thinking skills.\nAbility to gather and analyze data critically and develop supporting information and reports.\nCapable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.\nBasic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.\nProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.\nAuthorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship\nPreferred Qualifications\nActively enrolled in an accredited transportation planning, urban and regional planning, civil engineering, geography, history, life science, or related, Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.\nExperience using Adobe Suite and ESRI ArcGIS.\nExperience with public speaking.\nPrior internship and/or leadership involvement on campus or with an industry organization.\nCompensation:\nExpected Pay: $24.76 - $32.22 per hour\nWSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
