You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.\nA little more about your role…\nWSP are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Utilities Engineer to join the Roads team based in our London & South East.\nYou’ll be working alongside a host of talented people ranging from our early career professionals to established engineers and project managers working across the Roads business to improve the local and strategic road networks.\nYour role will be at the heart of our high performing and supportive team, using your skills and expertise to help us maintain and improve the quality of our engineering outputs. You can expect your role to involve delivering:\nExperience delivering utility connections, diversions and utility infrastructure strategies for small, medium and large schemes in the UK.\nUnderstanding of requirements of Electricity, Gas, Water, and Telecommunications networks owners\nExperience of Multi-utility / iDNO (independent Distribution Network Operators) / ICP (Independent Connection Provider) offerings would be beneficial.\nAbility to work on multiple projects concurrently and effectively organise your time between them\nHave knowledge of BIM standards and protocols\nExcellent communication skills are important to engage effectively with co-professionals and deliver high quality reports\nAutoCAD / Civils 3D experience, or similar software, with 2D drawing and 3D modelling capability\nProven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships\nHave an ability to communicate technical detail effectively and networking skills.\nYou will also:\nPrepare designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads Bridges (DMRB)\nSupport development of Graduate Engineers and Apprentices.\nProduce technical reports as required\nUndertake site visits to inform designs\nWork closely with Project and Technical Delivery teams to measure carbon on our projects using WSP Future Ready programme. Be part of the team to deliver in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and in-house quality assurance\nWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate…\nA degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline\nHighways design experience in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and Local Transport Notes.\nA passion for design and developing innovative solutions.\nWork closely with Project and Technical Delivery teams to measure carbon on our projects using WSP Future Ready programme. Be part of the team to deliver in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and in-house quality assurance.\nProficiency in design and drafting tools like Civils3D/AutoCAD. Additional skills in Bentely design software such as OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation would be advantageous.\nFamiliarity with BIM environments such as ProjectWise, Autodesk Forma (formerly ACC), other Common Data Environments, CAD QA/QC processes, and collaborative digital delivery would also be beneficial.\nAn interest or capability in digital automation, data-driven design, or computational tools, including AI-assisted workflows, Python, C++, Dynamo or similar, is welcomed. \nAttained or working towards professional qualifications such as IEng, with demonstrable progress. \nDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
