In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant minds and contribute to high-profile projects that are changing the landscape of our world.\nThe Coring, Water Monitoring & Traffic Control Group is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Well Technician to support a growing internal service team delivering work across the Environmental & Engineering (E&E) business. This position offers hands-on field experience in groundwater monitoring, pavement and bridge deck coring, utility investigations, and traffic control operations while providing a structured development path toward obtaining a Well Technician License.\nThe successful candidate will work alongside experienced technicians and project managers and play a key role in supporting internal projects, improving service delivery, and expanding traffic control capabilities for low-speed residential and municipal projects.\nYour Impact\nCoring Operations\nAssist with bridge deck, pavement, and concrete coring services for transportation and infrastructure projects.\n\nSupport sample collection, documentation, equipment setup, maintenance, and operation.\n\nPerform field measurements and assist with quality control procedures.\n\nSupport mobilization and demobilization of coring equipment and traffic control devices.\n\nWater Monitoring & Environmental Services\nAssist with groundwater and surface water monitoring programs.\n\nSupport environmental drilling and hydrogeological investigations.\n\nCollect field data and maintain accurate records.\n\nParticipate in monitoring well installation, maintenance, and decommissioning activities.\n\nWork toward obtaining and maintaining a Provincial Well Technician License.\n\nTraffic Control Operations\nAssist with the setup, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic control systems.\n\nSupport lane closures and work zones in low-speed residential and municipal environments.\n\nPerform site inspections to ensure traffic control plans are implemented safely and effectively.\n\nHelp expand internal traffic control capabilities to support E&E projects and reduce subcontracting requirements.\n\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\nFollow all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.\n\nParticipate in hazard assessments, FLRAs, and toolbox talks.\n\nMaintain compliance with applicable legislation, client requirements, and industry standards.\n\nPromote a strong safety culture through active participation in safety initiatives.\n\nThe Skills That Set You Apart\nRequired\nValid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.\nAbility to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.\nStrong communication and teamwork skills.\nWillingness to travel and work on field assignments throughout Ontario.\nCommitment to health, safety, and continuous learning.\nPreferred\nExperience in construction, environmental services, drilling, traffic control, or civil infrastructure projects.\nTraffic Control Person (TCP) certification.\nWorking at Heights certification.\nFirst Aid/CPR certification.\nExperience operating construction or field equipment.\nInterest in pursuing a Provincial Well Technician License.\nDevelopment Opportunities\nObtain a Provincial Well Technician License.\nDevelop expertise in bridge deck and pavement coring.\nGain experience supporting environmental and geotechnical investigations.\nBuild competencies in traffic control planning and operations.\nProgress into senior technician, crew lead, or supervisory positions.\nSupport the growth of an internal Coring, Water Monitoring, and Traffic Control service line.\nThe successful candidate will:\nSafely perform field work with minimal supervision.\nBecome proficient in bridge deck and pavement coring operations.\nProgress toward obtaining Well Technician licensing.\nSupport the growth of the internal traffic control team.\nDeliver high-quality service to internal E&E project teams.\nDemonstrate strong teamwork, initiative, and commitment to safety excellence.\nWhy choose WSP?\nWe exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
