Our mission is to attract and retain like-minded team members who will grow and prosper within our W&T community.\nW&T offers a competitive total rewards program designed to provide competitive pay, health and financial benefits, and work-life balance.\nWORKING LOCATION: Onshore Treatment Facility (OTF) Theodore, Alabama\nFULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time\nSCHEDULE: Mon -Thurs - 9 hours /Friday - 4 hours\nFLSA STATUS: Salaried - Exempt\nPOSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental Engineer reports to the Environmental Manager and is responsible for providing environmental compliance (air, water, and waste) supporting engineering, construction, regulatory, drilling and production teams at OTF and Mobile Bay.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nServe as local environmental expert and as a local point of contact in the area of Environmental Compliance for OTF and Mobile Bay assets. \nBe the focal point for agency correspondence for environmental permits and plans\nManage the compliance for Clean Air and Clean Water act, RCRA, CERCLA and EPCRA for OTF and Mobile Bay.\nEnsure all required environmental reports are completed and submitted to corporate environmental personnel prior to submission to agencies. \nGather data for new permit and renewal applications, report deviations, notices of violations, reports and any other requests for information from environmental agencies.\nMonitor company compliance with regulations through review of discharge monitoring reports, hazardous waste report, surveys and other documents and correspondence submitted to regulatory agencies, including reviewing reports from operating personnel in order to assure full compliance.\nAssist Engineering, Operations, and corporate HSE team in planning for compliance with regulations in connection with new or modified operations (e.g., new plants or processes, formulation changes) in order to assure compliance.\nConduct training for operating personnel in order to meet regulatory needs at OTF and Mobile Bay. \nBe visible and available to provide environmental support to operations and promote HSE&R expectations to operations management.\nLead site-level environmental audits and compliance.\nKNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in environmental science, Civil/ Environmental Engineering or related field preferred\nCertificates or licenses in specialized environmental areas helpful\n2-4 years of experience with environmental regulations relating to the oil and gas industry, including EPA and ADEM.\nKnowledge of federal environmental regulations\nGood organization skills with the ability to multi-task with changing priorities.\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact in a positive manner with others.\nAbility to work with minimum supervision and be driven to produce results at both an individual and team level.\nComputer input and data management skills are required.\nExperience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word), PDF and other basic computer skills.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nSuccessful job applicants will be able to perform these functions.
