Work under general direction, exercising independent judgment in day-to-day decision-making.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nObtain and evaluate competitive bids, quotations, etc. from prospective vendors and or contractors for various commodity and service categories as assigned. Select vendors via objective, qualify-able criteria.\nMaintain and reconcile inventory records and Ad Valorem tax values.\nFacilitate and Process Material Transfers.\nDevelop and execute a procurement plan for Services and Capital Equipment\nProvide Order Request coding support to Operations / Technical Staff as required.\nFunction as a Buyer in ProcureIT Electronic Requisition to Pay (ERP) system.\nProvide support for ERP (ProcureIT) system Catalog Upload and Maintenance.\nProvide support for ERP system training, testing, and Manual Development / Publishing.\nEnsure that valid codes required for interface into the accounting system for payment are used when generating OR’s or PO’s.\nWork closely with Accounts Payable personnel to timely clear rejected items/exceptions that fail upon import into the accounting system.\nCurrently intimately involved in the design, testing and implementation of ProcureIT system’s replacement, GEP.\nAdditional duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n10+ years of progressive buying/purchasing experience in Oil & Gas or related business. \nUndergraduate degree is a plus.\nFamiliarity with E&P Industry field operations (preferably offshore operations)\nDemonstrated aptitude in business management processes (budgeting, accounting, commercial contracting)\nExcellent communication & interpersonal skills\nAdvanced skills in MS Office applications (primarily MS Excel and MS Word), required\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER WORK REQUIREMENTS:\nSelf-motivated with ability to work independently is a must\nOrganizational and multi-tasking skills \nWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nOffice environment primarily, Operations site environment when specific evaluation /problems require such or possibly vendor site where new equipment/rehabilitation work is performed\nRequires occasional travel outside service area\nRequires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) as appropriate when evaluating site or equipment\nRequires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing steps and/or ladders to inspect equipment when necessary\nRequires operation of a personal computer\nThis description is intended to describe the type of work being performed by a person assigned to this position.
