At Wundermart, we believe the future of hotel F&B is not driven by assumptions, but by real consumer demand. Today, most hotels optimise breakfast participation, bar revenue and labour costs. Yet they only have visibility into the guests who already buy. As a result, they optimise only a fraction of total guest demand, while a significant share of guest needs remains unseen.
With more than 400 autonomous hotel F&B locations across Europe, Wundermart is uniquely positioned to change this. Every day, we generate millions of data points on how guests behave across breakfast, bar and retail. Our ambition is to turn this into the leading Consumer Intelligence Platform for hotel F&B.
As our Senior Data & AI Scientis t, you will play a key role in turning Wundermart’s Data & AI ambitions into tangible business impact. You will build models, solutions and intelligence capabilities that help hotels better understand, predict and optimise guest demand. Working closely with Engineering and stakeholders across the business, you will translate complex business challenges into scalable Data & AI solutions.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role. You will have significant autonomy and visibility across the organisation while remaining hands-on in building, testing and implementing solutions. Your work will directly influence commercial decision-making, product development, operational excellence and ultimately our customers’ profitability.
This is not a traditional Data Scientist role focused primarily on analysis and reporting. You will develop and test predictive models, design experiments and identify opportunities for automation, from hotel performance optimisation to customer behaviour analysis.
This role is for someone who loves building new things, takes initiative and enjoys working independently in an environment where entrepreneurial thinking and measurable impact are key.
What you bring.
We are looking for a hands-on builder who goes beyond analysis.- 7+ years of experience in Data, Analytics or AI, preferably in a fast-growing technology company or scale-up.
- Experience building data platforms and analytics capabilities from the ground up.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions or similar.
- Experience with modern data tooling such as dbt, Airflow, Airbyte or equivalent.
- Experience developing machine learning, forecasting and optimisation models.
- A strong understanding of consumer behaviour, experimentation and commercial analytics.
- Experience translating business problems into scalable data products.
- The ability to independently own complex projects and turn business problems into implemented solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge and advise senior stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
- Curious, hands-on, comfortable taking initiative and able to work independently in a fast-changing environment.
- Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
- Availability to work full-time, with at least three days per week from our Amsterdam HQ
What you will do.
- Translate Wundermart’s Data & AI ambitions into scalable models, solutions and applications.
- Build a scalable data platform in close collaboration with Engineering.
- Turn millions of transactions into actionable consumer behaviour insights.
- Build forecasting, optimisation and recommendation models.
- Develop pricing, assortment and demand prediction models.
- Design and implement AI-powered decision support and Agentic AI applications.
- Translate complex business questions into scalable analytical solutions.
- Support Product, Commercial and Operations with data-driven decision-making.
- Independently own complex Data & AI projects from business question through to implemented solution.
- Present insights and recommendations to the Management Team, investors and strategic customers.
- Contribute to building the Data & AI capabilities behind Wundermart’s Consumer Intelligence Platform.
- Develop and implement predictive and optimisation models to support business decisions.
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into analytical questions.
- Design and evaluate experiments, such as A/B tests, to validate new ideas.
- Build and automate data pipelines and analytical workflows in collaboration with Engineering.
- Share insights clearly through dashboards, reports and visualisations.
