As a Behavioral Health Technician, you are on the front lines of recovery-creating structure, safety, and connection for clients during some of the most critical moments of their journey.\nPosition Summary\nThe Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)plays a key role in supporting clients throughout the full continuum of care-from admission through discharge. This role ensures a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented environment by providing direct support, monitoring client well-being, and reinforcing treatment goals.\nBHTs partner closely with clinical and medical teams to deliver consistent, compassionate, and accountable care.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nClient Support & Engagement\nSupport clients with daily living activities, routines, and scheduled programming\nProvide orientation to new clients, including program expectations and structure\nEncourage participation in recovery programming and communicate observations to the care team\nAssist with or co-facilitate groups under clinical supervision\nRespond appropriately to client needs, including emotional or behavioral escalations\nSafety & Compliance\nMonitor client safety and adherence to program expectations\nConduct vital signs, drug screens, and breathalyzer testing per protocol\nMaintain accurate documentation and chain-of-custody standards\nComplete safety rounds and environmental checks\nFollow all facility safety, emergency, and infection control protocols\nOperations & Documentation\nMaintain timely and accurate documentation in the EHR\nSupport front desk, scheduling, and general administrative tasks\nAssist with facility organization, meals, and daily operations\nTransportation (If Applicable)\nTransport clients to appointments, recovery meetings, and approved community activities in accordance with state regulations\nMaintain a valid driver’s license and meet company driving requirements\nQualifications\nMinimum Requirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nMust be at least 21 years of age\nValid driver’s license (if transporting clients)\nCPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)\nAbility to pass background and motor vehicle checks\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in human services or related field\n1+ year experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or residential care\nFamiliarity with 12-Step programs, recovery principles, or co-occurring disorders\nPersonal or professional experience with recovery (if applicable)\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nResidential treatment setting with moderate activity level\nFrequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs with assistance)\nAbility to respond to emergencies and support clients in crisis\nAbility to multitask and maintain composure in fast-paced environments\nWhy Join Us\nWe are committed to building a workplace where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow.\nBenefits include:\nMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance\nEmployer-paid Life Insurance\nGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nCareer growth and advancement opportunities\nSupportive, mission-driven work environment\nStrong leadership and operational support\nEqual Employment Opportunity & Reasonable Accommodations\nThe organization provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
